bought a springfield xds 9mm yesterday

Well it was a little boring at the range so I bought this gun as it had a red dot on it that turned out to be Crimson Trace. About a 240 buck site on a 400 gun I got out the door for 480 also with 5 extra mags. Shot it a little yesterday with no problems but  will shoot more today and report back. This is still me looking for a good carry gun and the co witness sites is just what I needed with the red dot site I am not sure I totally trust in a defensive posture although the range people swear by it!!  I do love shooting with a red dot site just not sure I totally trust it is all!!  Craig

The site was so far off I gave up on it as I didn't have the allen wrenches with me to make the adjustments. I have adjusted the up and down screw so it will be better tomorrow I hope. I have two other guns with red dots so I am confident I can get this gun adjusted. Did finish 50 rounds of 124g v-crown so it is used up but I just receive 1000 fmj 124g in the mail today. I had to fix the mail box yesterday as with the multiple orders from American the box was loose and finally fell over!!! Been kind of busy the last couple of days!!  Craig

Just finished another 50 124g fmj that I got today so I have plenty to site in the gun tomorrow. Boy looking for containers to store bullets in I found a lot more bullets to reload. I don't think I will need any bullets for a few months. Of course I say that and then American will come up with something I will just have to have, oh well.  Craig

Hey Craig, so other than the dot being off, you like the XDs then?, I?ve had an XDm 3.8 compact 9 for 6 or 7 years I believe, and have yet to have any feeding or other issues, pretty impressive really

Hey Ken yeah I like mine!! Talked to a friend this morning and we discussed the fact that all the XDs he has seen have single stack mags and mine is a double stack with the extra mags all factory mags! I will test more this morning!!  Craig

Hey Ken I forgot I have had a XDM 9mm  for a few years and shoot it every so often and I helped me make the decision to get the XDs. Mainly it is the size that I was looking for, ya know something to carry and it is perfect for that. I am wrong on the double stack as they asre all single stack. Oh well doesn't really bother me.  It shot great today with the site almost set correctly.Craig

My daughter has a 9mm XDS, mine is in .45acp. Come to find when she started dating her husband, he also has one in .40SW. I always new he was a good catch.

Nice, I thought something similar when my son-in-law asked about my XDm, two days later he had one was on his hip 😀

Shot some more today, all in the black with the red dot site set perfectly. I also rigged up a temporary string connected the site cover to the holster that work perfect as when you draw the cover comes off without getting lost. Really I just don't like the holster but will use it temporarily.  Craig

I have found another holster that works better for the new Springfield XDs. Kind of funny as it was made for the Glock 19 that I blew up and Glock sent me a 34 to replace it at a nice price and it shoots great. Anyway I had to modify it to fit the model 34. So I had to modify it again for the Springfield but I works and is the style I wanted. I will possibly get my holster guy to make one for the Springfield but at leased I can carry it now!!  Craig

Shot the Springfield XDs today trying to site in the red dot. It just wasn't very far off and much better now. Gun shot great and I love the size.  Craig

Oddly enough I have a Galco Summer Classic for my Glock 27, that holster fits the XDS perfectly.

Shot the Springfield XDs today and the site was perfect. I still don't know what the MOA set screw is for but it doesn't realy matter at this point as it's shooting so good the way it is.  Craig
