Any thoughts on an ok 9mm carbine that won?t break the bank? I?ve been very happy with my HP 1095TS 10mm carbine, but don?t know that I want to go with Hi-Point for this one.

I've got a Stribog that has been great.

I have a Freedom Ordnance FX 9. I must say that I am biased toward it because it is built by my neighbor! I have the handgun length barrels in 4" and 10". I absolutely love the platform and have had zero issues with it. I also have a TNW in 10 mm. I like it for the ability to switch calibers without having to buy the complete firearms. I can't speak to the others on your list.

The only one I've fired a lot is the JRC in 9mm because I have one. Pros: easy to convert to right or left handed. Some of the furniture is AR. Can run on different mags with a mag well change. Cons: really a PITA to clean without the quick detach takedown accessorie. They don't pay for warranty returns.

Mine jammed a ton when I converted it to lefty. Sent it back and it came back the same. Called them and one of their techs made a suggestion on changing the contour of the ejector. Runs perfectly now.

You have to unscrew the bolt handle with an allen wrench to remove the bolt. Ejector plate also requires screws to be removed to fully clean.

On the plus side for JRC, a friend bulged the barrel on his .40 version with a squib. Sent it back to them for an estimate and they replaced the barrel and sent it back for free.

Some great info. I?m open to most any options providing it?s on the lower to middle end price wise, and certainly can be anything that?s not on my list, that was just what the articles author suggested.
Thanks

I have a bunch of 9mm carbines.

Upwards of $1000, at the moment, you can get a Century MP5 build for about $1000 on sale recently.

While a lot of people like mp5's, the clone I have is one of the most finicky pieces of crap ever built.  So, I'm jaded with them.  They also have the ergonomics of a garden ogre.

You can find the older scorpion evo's for under $850 often. (I'd avoid the newer 3+ model-it uses its' own special mag that isn't even compatible with older scorpions and all the aftermarket options that are available).

The older scorpions have been great and I've many thousands of rounds into mine with no issues.

Uzi.  Hard to find cheap anymore these days and, is heavy and has 1960's ergonomics, much like the mp five.

The PSA AK5 is one that I'd like to own but don't.  I like AK style guns.  Plus they use scorpion magazines which are affordable. There are a few others, but I'd go with the psa because of reasons I would get into in PM but not here.

I do have an AR9.  They're good.  I have one of the older colt style that uses modified uzi mags, but most of the newer ones are usually glock style.  Either are fine.  No real advantage to either style.  Some people like plastic mags, others like metal.  Just pick one and build it for one or the other.   You could get into one of them for about $650 or so.  I haven't priced one out in a while, but the one I build was under $500 then.  I'm sure you could probably get into one for around $650'ish.  Palmetto State Armory sells a decent kit, if they have any in stock.  Couple that with a New Frontier Armory lower and you'd be set.

CMMG makes a fancy AR9 with a rotary delayed bolt, but they're too proud of it considering the price. Those are in the $1500 territory and constant backlog.  I won't ever have one at those prices.

same for the sig PCC.  Just too expensive for a pistol caliber in my opinion.  I'm sure they're fine guns, but I'm not interested in taking out a loan for a 9mm.

Beretta carbine.

Ruger has a PCC.  Don't remember seeing that on your list.  Those usually hover around $600 last I looked.

I don't think I'd like the stribog.  They're sorta ugly.  Especially with a can on them.

I saw a tactical lever action 9mm the other day that was equally ugly if that's your thing.  I have no idea on the price.  Looked like the magpul catalog puked on it.
This post checked by independent fact checkers, and they're all pissed off about it.

Thanks John, we can talk more later

I didn?t realize the Ruger 9mm PC Carbine had Interchangeable mag wells, and accepts Glock 26, 19, and G17 mags. This could be a great option other than building one
