I guess I have ruffled some feathers

Funny thing is, I don't allow ads on any of my websites. I pay for them out of my own pocket. I don't make a dime off of this website and never will. I personally think a forum looks pathetic with ads all over. I started this website for 10mm fans. It will always remain advertisement free. Period.

I suspect such a reaction could be viewed as not supporting American values like freedom of speech and expression. And if you were wanting to make money, it could be considered to be against capitalism.

Since gun owners tend to be more supportive of core American values, outbursts such as this might be the last thing he'd want to do.

It would be interesting to know which site he's referring about that could potentially lose advertising dollars. I'm still on various forums and stop by here to read about various loads, firearms, etc. I've left other sites because the moderating was over the top for me.

Probably the biggest sites would be ARFcom and GlockTalk. Maybe The High Road? Texas and Calguns forums would be next but I could be mistaken.

How many people actually click on the ads anyways.  The ads I notice on some websites are things I goggled to research or site I have visited.  Sportsmans Guide advertising follows me all over the place.

Thanks for the forum Grim Reaper, its a great place, even for newbie 10mm owners like myself.

I have never clicked an ad on a forum on purpose.  I have on accident, especially on my phone.

Perhaps this individual should have expected open competition in the market, and should take this as a challenge to make his forum more attractive to the members rather than the advertisers.

I too am curious what forum the are from. The previous forum I frequented that was 10mm specific I think was probably running one new topic every two days.  I don't have ready access to the stats there, unlike here, so it is just a wag based on searches run for what should be words common to about any topic.  It also appears the forum gets about 5-6 posts per day average.

This forum is new and that generates some buzz of course, but in general our numbers are about 10 times that.  7+ new topics per day, 65+ posts per day.  And we haven't really had the requisite bear caliber argument yet.

I am thrilled with this forum.  Hats off again the Grim Reaper.

I'm shaking my head over this one.  Wow

This is entertaining, at the least.  Criminal at the most.  Threatening to disrupt a lawful business, for profit or not, is unlawful.  Actually disrupting lawful business is unlawful.  Enlisting others to do so is criminal conspiracy.

"Yo man I no what you are doing and it wont work"
"It wont go anywhere anyway so just stop"
If he believes this, what's he so worried about?  He's smart enough to no what you are doing, no it wont work, and no this is a stupied 10mm forum.

I'm curious to know which site this is.  Any enthusiast site that's driven solely by profit is no site I will visit.  Profit is a byproduct of success.

Don't you feel stupied now?  ;D

I would like to know how a forum can own an interest.  GlockTalk.com dominates for Glock enthusiasts, but there is no reason another forum couldn't displace them through providing a superior forum.  The same thing goes for several other brand specific forums.

Why does this guy feel that it is unlawful for you to compete in a free market?  Or is he just hoping to out spend you on legal fees?

sqlbullet

I would guess it is more of a scare tactic than anything.

But, don't hesitate to ask for legal contributions if it comes to that.  I will put my $$$ where my mouth is to help out if that happens.

The guy who sent me this message misses the point of this forum entirely. He sent me another message telling me how I violated his privacy by posting his "private" message and now he will add that to the "lawsuite."

I might take him serious if he could spell.

Breadman03

I don't see how your forum could be in the wrong, and just hope that this person realizes just how much time and money he would be wasting in pursuit of this.

Anyone that uses the Internet can't reall have an expectation of privacy in my opinion.

Turo

Guess I'm not the only one that thinks he should learn spelling and grammar before threatening a "lawsuite."

I'd also like to know which forum he's talking about so I can let the mods know that their member is making them look bad.

What an idjit.   ???

Does he really think people belong to just ONE forum?   :o

Does he not understand real marketing?    That by increasing competition you INCREASE the market.

Hey dude, grow up or go to school and learn something.

How many of us are only on one gun site?
We need a place for all 10mm guys,  maybe a few gun companys will see how many of us really want more options in 10mm and give us what we want.
