Reloading and or casting bench caster options

I?m not sure how well something like this would work, but it looks like there?s some good caster options for a reloading and or casting bench. My use would be in the garage in the winter, giving me the ability to easily roll it out of the way when not in use. In the warm months, it could just live out in the backyard. Any thoughts or recommendations for casters for something like this? My concern is that many of the casters bolt onto something like a 4x4 leg, but mine are only 2x4?s

All Screws. Mounting the casters would probably work if I put a large piece of plywood covering the bottom, but if that was done, it will end up being a couple inches taller once the casters and plywood were on. Another option would be to shorten the legs, and then do the plywood / caster thing. If I left it as is, I only have to walk it or drag it about 15 feet, when I start, and than again when I?m finished casting, which is sounding a whole lot easier than dinking around with the whole thing.

It appears flimsy. Lead is HEAVY. Heavy and dangerous. My benchnis 4x4's and screwed to the wall with double 3/4" top and a 1/4" aluminum plate plus a secondary containment, tray should the lead "leak or spill".

IMHO, one cannot over build a proper bench.

I've got heavy duty caster wheels from Harbor Freight.  You will want the casters to be lockable so as not to have the table move around.

It appears flimsy.

in the respect that eventually it'll develop a wobble. Needs some triangular cross 2x4s'.

Thanks, I was thinking that may be a good idea also

Other than adding a couple cross braces, and hopefully some locking / self-leveling low profile casters : ) it came out great. Once it warms up, which won?t be for a very long time, I?d like to apply something to protect the wood from moisture so it can live out back in the warm months, and then back in the garage for the winter.

Do a google search for side mounted casters, there are some interesting ones.

Thanks, I didn?t even consider side mount casters.

The locking caster?s finally arrived, but once installed, I realized the bench was about 4 inches taller than I wanted.  Now that I?ve shortened it, it stands 40? high. Other than some sanding and weather proofing with some leftover deck paint, I think it?s compleat. I had most all of the materials on hand, so one sheet of 3/4? plywood, the casters, and some hardware was it, not a bad bench for a $100.00, give or take.

Looks great and should be functional!  Good luck!

It's not cheap but, hands down, the best preservative you can get is linseed oil.
