Well since i have completely lost my mind what would you experts recommend using for a good revolver conversion. I would rather pay for a conversion that pay 3 prices for a 610.I looked at the Vaquero that is posted under revolver section that was  converted from a 40SW and it is a good looking gun. I am alsi looking for someone to do the conversion. Hamilton Bowen is only a few miles from me but he is really proud of his work but I guess you get what you pay for. since i know this gun will never be shot a lot and also that you can never get back what you put into a project like this i make go not cheasp but not high end either. Need gun recommendations, blue or stainless and gunsmith. All help appreciated.

Thanks Den:
Already looked at it. It is rough. I would still have to spend a bunch to get it back into the shape I want this gun in.This is not going to be a carrier. It is going to be a sometimes shooter and one to look at and hold when you get the urge.Unlike all the autos we have they just do not lay down next to you and make you think their pretty. LOL I want the one who knows she is pretty.

I just can't believe this Hogleg needs all that much Bluing to equal the cost of a Vaquero plus what a custom re-barrel and 10mm Cylinder would cost
A Vaquero in 357 or 45 will cost around $600.00, plus the cost of a 10mm Cylinder and all the Smith work to rebarrel it ? ? ?
I'd bet you can get this Hot Blued for around $100.00 or you could Cool Blue it yourself for about $20.00....if it really needs it
I'll bet you could get it stripped, polished and Hard Chromed for less than all that custom work and Parts

I had not thought about the hard chrome idea. Now that is kinda appealing being this is just a sleep with me gun.But you know on those sleep with deals you kinda want to know their history unless your just a gun whore which most of us are by now. I am gonna look at some ideas and then we shall see what I come up with.

This is what I wrote in your other thread...
QuoteOK, 1st  10mm revolver, not a bad idea if you like and shoot revolvers, especially one with great triggers.
2nd is this going to be single action or double action?  Single action will be OK but the moon clip option is out.  Double action better for many reasons.
3rd to not go with the moon clips in my opinion is not a good idea.  The cartridge head spaces on the case mouth, therefor the cylinder needs to have a square cut at the end of the chamber for headspacing. This can allow buildup of carbon and bullet materials in that area.  And then you can not shoot 40S&W becasue of the head space issue.
4th with the cylinder cut for the moon clips, the forcing cones can be beveled to eliminate the area of buildup.  Then you can use the 10mm or 40S&W as set in the moon clips.  This allows for faster reloads and unloads and speeds things up.
5th to do the revolver many start with the 357 and ream it out for the 10mm, making it not as strong as it was for the 357mag.... ::)

The revolver is limiting your capacity already, If it were me I'd opt for the moon clips.  8)

But why not just get a nice Glock and ammo for what you will spend on the revolver and the machine work?   ???

If you are not going to carry it, rarely shoot it and just hold it and show it off, it is your money to do what you will!  ???

At one point I so wanted a 610. I agree with those saying shoot revolver rounds in a revolver and a .357 covers the 10mm and a .44 is just a step up. Auto cartridges for my autos!
