Glock 10mm #3 Followers

Just dumb luck I had to run into the LGS today to use their bathroom and imagine my surprise when I actually saw brand new G20 mags on the shelf. At $27.00 apiece I couldn't pass up getting a couple.  Even funnier was that they were the only Glock mags they had!   :o

Noticed that they have a #3 follower. I had not heard that a new follower was in the works.

I never had a problem with my #2's.   Anyone know what the deal is with the #3's?

Gen 3 I believe.  No cutout for the ambi release.

Thanks.  I was just curious.  One catch-notch is Gen 3.  I've had both, 2 and 3 followers, among others over the years, and haven't noticed a difference, functionally.  I've never broken one, but have heard of some.

So the 3's have been out for some time?  The mags I got last year must have been old stock as I figured the 3's were just out the last couple months.

Looks like these are indeed gen4 mags with the notch on either side, but not in the middle.

Still curious to know what was wrong with the #2's to warrant a change.  'Course we'll probably never know. ;)
