The reason we are advertisement free

A few businesses/corporations have inquired about advertising here on 10mm-firearms.com. As anyone can tell just by looking at our site here, there are no advertisements anywhere. There are two reasons for this:

1. I don't like the way it looks. I think it looks tacky. I want the focus to be on the content of the site, not flashy advertisements.

2. I believe this type of website is a form of advertising by itself. If you make a good product, we will talk about it in a positive way. If you sell a bad product, we will talk about that too.

I love being on this site just from the standpoint there isn't any commercial advertising.

I just got hit up in a PM by a new-ish member here to advertise ammo.  I replied and referenced him to this thread.

Is there an actual issue with any manufacturer being a member here and simply answering questions about their product, without going into any type of direct selling tactic?

Like if Kevin Underwood popped in to address questions anyone may have, without actually being around to directly sell anything?

Not at all. As long as they are not specifically starting threads to advertise specific products or sales.

Cool.  I don't know if any ever will, I just think it would be great if they did.
