My wife has been ill and haven't been doing much reloading, hunting, etc. I just retired, back in the game and have time to pay attention.

I see sites that say they have it, but I've never heard of them and now days scams are everywhere.

This is my favorite powder for 9mm. I do have power pistol, unique and blue dot.

Absolutely some questionable sights out there. I think we are relatively safe as long as they take the usual MasterCard & Visa. Have run across several that only take goofy unknown methods of payment, and are likely not even in the Country

One of the sites has a California number and  KS address. The number goes to a resident and they will only reply by IMS so that is a dead giveaway that something is not right

Today has been an awesome day, I'm a member of a 700-member gun club and end up buying some folks out so I have enough components to last me and my grandson a lifetime as long as we don't shoot more than a couple hundred round a day, every day.

Now my biggest issue is the proper storage on the primers. I've been storing them in a large wooden box with desiccant. Anyone know a better way to store them (long term) so they will last decades? Can I vacuum seal them with a desiccant pack?

I place the boxes of primers inside ziploc bags so they don't exchange moisture with the air.  Mine are stored in the house with air and heat.

I built a shop with a reloading room that is climate controlled (no windows and 2 hr fire rated) as my wife didn't like all the powder and primers in the house.

However, I've only been reloading for 8 years or so and never stored large amounts of primers, etc before and looking for lessons learned by others and appreciate any guidance.

I dont know how you feel about buying on gunbroker, but these people have 2 jugs in stock. $60/pound, $18 shipping, $39 Hazmat fee.  So for both it would be $177. I havent looked for powder in sometime so I am not sure if $60/pound is an average price this day and age. I am not affiliated with this seller. I did make two separate purchases from them about a year ago when I first got into 6.5 creedmoor. I bought 6.5 Staball and IMR 4166 from them. Shipping was fast and good communication with them. They do have quite a few negative reviews and I am guessing it is from people who have never ordered this type of items online and the hazmat fees really get to them. When I bought from them the shipping and hazmat was $67. So they have come down $10.

Although that Gunbroker listing is a good person to buy from I found Longshot in stock at Powder Valley as of 8:16AM March 11 @ $29/pound.  Much better pricing.

Hodgdon is selling powder directly now. Midsouth Shooters Supply, Midway, Natchez Shooters Supply, Graf?s, Powder Valley, all have powder going in and out of stock. They?re all reputable. It?s all about finding primers now. Bullets aren?t that hard to find if you keep checking, either.
