I am looking at maybe acquiring one of these pistols and I am wondering if it is worth all the hype.
One concern I have is that it seems to shoot high at 25yds since the sights are regulated for 100yd shooting.
Also wondering about the accuracy of the pistol with the 7.5TK, 10mm, and .40 cartridges.
Probably would put a red dot on it anyways so sighting in at 25yds to 100yds wouldn't be a problem.
It's a fast round in a pistol but basically equals the power of a 30 carbine in a rifle.
Is it super great hunting round good for gophers to grizzlies?

Well, I keep an SRO on mine. You should zero it for your use but I keep mine at 50 yds and only lose an inch or two at 100yds.

The 7.5 FK is a necked down 10mm Magnum, essentially a 7.62 tokarov on steroids (another favorite round). It is very fast at 2000 fps.

I use mine for hunting and grizzly backup. A threaded barrel is supposedly forthcoming. A friend uses his for production and higher with optics.

The 10 and 40 are great in this. The 9mm is not great unless you use at least +P. Because it is sized for longer rounds, it is ideal for 9x25 which I can reload until the 7.5FK gets through SAAMI and is commercially available. I'm sure it could handle 9x30 and 10mm magnum and I have 10mm magnum cases on order from Starline. It has the potential to be a very versatile gun and if I can get my barrels made up, even more so.

How's the recoil on the PSD and what kind of groups are you getting at 50yds and 100yds? I used to own S&W's in 500 and 460, so recoil shouldn't be too bad in comparison to those.
The 500S&W required concentration shooting the 350gr-500gr bullets. The 460 wasn't bad and was about like a hot loaded 44 magnum. I also had a 41GNR#2 on an Encore which is the 445 Supermag case necked down to .41 and shot a 210gr bullet to 2200fps in an 8" barrel.
Recoil wasn't bad with it especially compared to the 500S&W.

The recoil is not an issue - they have the patented moving weight system to address that. If anything, when the weight goes forward, you fill it in your trigger finger.

Off a rest, I'm getting sub MOA groups at 50yds. I can ring a 6" plate at 100yds without a rest.

Now there is some muzzle blast for sure compared to a 9mm but given your experience with large bore revolvers, this is not going to be a thing for you

Sounds like it shoots great. The 10mm/40 is a bonus. I have 41 Mags for more power. I am curious as to how the 40 headspaces in the 10MM chamber. What ammo/bullet did you shoot the hogs with? No grizzlies in southern Louisiana but there are increased populations of black bears and of course large hogs are an infestation. I saw some pics of fired brass that showing splits in the shoulder/neck area. Probably can't get the bullets that they load in the ammo except for maybe the Sierra .308 95gr bullet.
I did buy some Underwood 115gr Extreme Hunter ammo with 1700fps velocity to test out.

It's always a debate. In real life 10mm and 40 are held by the extractor, chamber be damned. The FK barrel is marked 10mm/.40 S&W so they are good with it. Do watch carbon build up if you shot a lot of 40. If you go back to 10, you may fire out of battery and that is the issue. For the G40, I've got both barrels so I don't have to worry about it.

FK sells 4 rounds. I used the F9 67% meplat solid copper for hunting and most other things. Looks like a CEB. Nearly all reports favor flat nose solids over JHP for reliability and penetration.

The S95 is a Sierra HP copper. The F5 is an FK bullet design. The F7 is a mono copper hollow tip, looks CEB.

It is a .312 bullet from my measurements. So, there are some choice out there. I see reamers out there so some will make dies. Someone here did a takedown of one of the rounds

The only ammo I see that they have right now is the F5 or S95. I ordered the pistol from BRNO and hope it comes in soon.
I ordered the ammo from Firearms Depot since they had it in stock and BRNO said it would be 2-3 weeks out before shipping.
I'll stay on the lookout for some of the F9 ammo.

challer61

It comes and goes. Most in demand

hunter5567

Have you taken any game with the F5 load? Or the S95 load and how did they perform?
thanks,
Patrick

challer61

I use the F9 for hunting. But go to YT and the other rounds on game are demonstrated

hunter5567

I got mine in and test fired it with F5 ammo and also shot some 10mm and 40 ammo in it and it shoots great. I'm going to put a red dot sight on and I am
wondering what plate did you use to mount the SRO on it? I'll probably put a Swampfox Justice on it but I can't find out what plate to use on it.
I ordered some S95 ammo for it too and hopefully can get some S9 for it.

challer61

The SRO on mine mounted without a plate. Just remember to use the recoil pins. They are only just briefly mentioned in the manual

hunter5567

Yea it looks like it would just mount on there. I just wanted to completely cover the holes on top of the slide using a smaller footprint optic. A plate from my S&W M&P 2.0 10MM will fit if I shave a bit off the forward side. I may just use the sealing plate for a Trijicon RMR that has the corners cut out to allow the pegs of the optic plate to protrude and engage the forward sight base holes.
