Hey thanks for the input but I am holding out for Power pistol as aa5 isn't as good.  Craig

OK it's official the Accurate data is VERY low on the internet and testing today it would not cycle the action on numerous guns. I will stay at 6.5 for 115 and 125g for 9mm. They don't list a round over 5.5 or close and it doesn't work. At leased I am still able to shoot.  Craig

Hey Craig, any success finding spp online lately?, as all I currently have are large primmers

Hey Ken Castle Arms sent me a email that they had CCI small pistol primers and I bought 2000. We will see when they get here. I have bought from them in the past.  Craig

Well I just looked up Nosler data for 9mm aa5 powder and it is my numbers or a little more for max. Who'd a thought?   Craig

As keeping up with my range trips per day I went this morning in a hail storm!!  Shot pretty good though! Went to my holster making guy's house yesterday and he made two new holsters and one fix/repair to the Glock because I put the green dot on it. We are up in the air on the Taurus TH9! I just may never need to carry it. It's a little larger than 6 or 8 of my other 9's. Nice gun though. BTW shot a CZ 75 E something and it was easily the best trigger I have ever shot. I will get one as soon as they are in!! That's it for now.  Craig

In my testing with various calibers, the two powders I've found closest to Power Pistol is Alliants BE-86 and Hodgdons Longshot.  Longshot is more of a flattened ball powder and can produce some impressive velocity numbers.  BE-86 is a relatively new powder and if it weren't for the small amount of off color flakes, I would have a hard time telling the difference between it and Power Pistol.  I also get better accuracy on target with BE-86 and Power Pistol.

Some say BE-86 is close to Power Pistol with a flash suppressant added and my load work ups in various calibers seem to indicate that.  I suspect the flash suppressant increases the burn rate / pressure curve slightly.

Hope this helps.

In my neighborhood nothing is available except some AA powders mostly for rifle and shotgun. I got the AA5 working but it's crap compared to Alliants powders. I can't buy any Alliant powder locally and haven't seen any for over 6 months.  Craig
