Interesting in a strange way

As you may not recall I bought some 10mm brass that turned out to be Braser small pistol primer brass. I think it is kind of interesting to find a load that you really want to shoot and NOT get the brass back!!!!! Craig

Craig the "NT"  Non Toxic small pistol primer brass isn't a bad thing considering primer shortages.
They afford you to shoot with small primers if that's all you have!  The regular large primered cases when you have plenty of the large primers.
It all good either way!  I like those Small Primered brass for my 9x25 Dillon conversions. ::)

Hey Wade during the shortage all I had was all primers except small pistol. I just came into small primers lately and am sitting on 2500. I am just loading needed rounds, trying to not load if not needed. I think I have some 180g JHP in 10mm I have found lately. I really don't need these as I have a lot loaded but I need to load something as winter is almost upon us.  Craig

This is getting stranger by the minute!!! In looking for the small primer 10mm Brazer brass I have found  a good 50+ regular 10mm which I have lot's of primer for. I know I had the other Brazer brass but just can't locate it just now. I have finished 380 for a friends mother and another 100 9mm for him lately so it isn't like I am doing nothing.  Craig

Ammo manufactured by those companies now held by Vista (Federal, Blazer, Speer) all have small primer 10mm brass. It remains to be seen if Remington goes along with this trend. In my tests of reloads I haven't seen appreciable differences in velocity between Federal and Starline. Of course this is based on the bullets and powders that I  used and your results my vary.

Well I looked for that brass and never found it. It turns out it wasn't Brazer brass but a mix that I thought I had found as I have had quantities in the past. I think I tried to put a large primer in one and it didn't go for whatever reason. Also the box was Brazer so I took it for granted that that was the issue. Found the mix bass and I think it is large primer type but will check it out and get back.   Craig

Ha you all will love this!! I pulled out a piece of brass from the pile to test the primer hole size. The piece I pulled out was Brazer and it is small pistol primer. I must have pulled 8 or 10 yesterday and none were Brazer and all were large pistol primer size. Well I figured it out anyway and will sort the brass by head stamp at leased getting the Brazer out. This is a lot of work for 50 rounds. This is one instance where shopping at the gun show didn't pay off except I will shoot these!!!!  Craig

Started loading large pistol primers in the 10mm brass I had. I loaded 70 and did find 10 or so Brazer I will load later. You really can't tell the primer size by looking at the hole. Oh well I am getting there.  Craig

All done with the 10mm so moving on to 45 for a friend.  Some other good news for me is a new indoor target range has just opened and I am a member. Shot today and the real good news is the young man running the range will sweep up my brass if I want him to. I am mainly interested in the 41AE and will shoot it tomorrow. Boy talk about embarrassing. I was shooting my Sig P320 but a bullet was jamed in the barrel some how. It turned out to be a blue bullet that I was doing and tersted the chambering in the sig and it must of come apart. I just don't remember it happening. Got it all fixed and went to load the mag for the Sig and the loader was jamed with an empty case stuck in it. Of course I didn't remember I had an extra loader in the range bag but got the first one fixed anyway. My nerves were shot after all that and my shooting proved it!!!!!!! Oh well there is always tomorrow!!  Craig

This range is also installing the stuff needed for like Zombie shooting like a movie that you can shoot at with live rounds and it shows the hits somehow. Not sure how any of it works but I wouldn't mind offing a few zombies. It does other things and I think there is no need for targets unless you want them.  Creaig

Shot and emptied 40 41AE for reloading. My Lehigh rounds were too long and I need to adjust. I was shooting better considering I was shooting the Samson 200g rounds. I got real comfortable with it after the first ten or so rounds. Both range people said I shot good for 30'.  Craig

Sounds Great Craig!  I went the other day and did the recert for my CCP, I decided to use a revolver this time.  I shot some older 38SPL ammo that was loaded in 1992, cast 122 grain truncated cone over a healthy dose of Unique powder making +P or possibly +P+.   All 50 rounds fired well and on target.

Hey Wade you can't beat 38sp and when I was having trouble with Unique going through the powder measure I was told Power Pistol would solve all my problems and it did, been there ever since. I still have a S&W feather weight revolver but I use 357's when I shoot 38sp. Nice comfortable shooting and no problem getting the brass. Ha Ha.  Craig

The one I shot at used paper on a large roll over a 4 or 5 rollers as a screen and when you were done, they shined lights through the bullet holes. For the next shooter they indexed the roll a bit so no two holes ever lined up for the light. Some scenarios were cool, like shoot / no shoot. When this was selected the system had a mic that picked up the shot, froze the action and lit the holes.

Might that be what you shot at?

Yeah this was a little different as there was a projector running the "show" and another machine reading your shots. I don't have any idea how they got the two to interact but they did. You got more points for a zombie head shot than a body shot. On the pin game if you hit it it would fall over. I just thought the whole thing was kind of slow. I will shoot other games but at 6.00 a game it will be limited.  Craig
