Which semiauto for power loads?

I have a Smith & Wesson 610-2 for woods carry, and have no doubt about its ability to handle the stout reloads....but without going into load recipes, which semi-auto would be best for handling (and surviving) more powerful loads?
I'd prefer all steel over polymer, but currently have a G40 (KKM barrel on order) that is also carried in the woods. What mods would it require to get anywhere close to the 610 in terms of durability?
The 1006, unfortunately, has become too valuable to risk damaging.

Recommendations would be appreciated.

You might want to try the Tanfogilo Witness line up!

A G40 with a KMM barrel is likely to outlive you.  If you have an issue with early unlock a spring upgrade will correct it.

I agree with Wade that a steel witness is a tank as well.  I have three of them and they are all very solid guns.

If your more of a 1911 man, The RIA 6" Match Pro has impressed me.  (at least the one I bought)
The only mods I've done to mine are a flat bottom FP stop and a 25# mainspring.

For super hot 10mm loads, I would go with an LAR Grizzly.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll check into the recommended models

For hardcast bullets, I like my XDM.  Standard rifling, polished bore and feed ramp.

I chose the Glock. First a G20 then a G40 with first a LW 5.5" ported and then a 6" KKM Barrel.

I have been loading Power Pistol and have been super impressed with velocity results.

With a MP 402-200 cast about 15/16 BHN. I have safe loaded past 1200 fps. (1260/G40-1250/G20-1080/G29) I stopped cause I reached my velocity target. (1250fps)

I got the hankerin to see what I could do with a heavy... This was back about four years. GT is where I used to buy as cast bullets in HP. Before buying my own molds. So I bought some for there 220HP bullets. They weigh closer to 230g. I specified 20:1 alloy as well. I decided 1050fps was my goal with the G29! I then choose Blue Dot. (A favorite in the 10) working up as there was no data. I was able to pass 1075 with barely .0015 case head exp. sized cases plunk in a Sheridan WO USE of a bulge buster.

Last month I bought myself a birthday present. A Arsenal Bullet mold dropping a slick sided 200g WFN Bullet. As dims for this was identical to MP (accept OAL) I loaded starting just below what MP bullet proved safe. WOW WOW was that a mistake. I achieved velocities above what I  ever expected!!!  1400  fps!!!!   :o :o  :o. I did have to seat this bullet deeper as its ojive apparently was larger. Now I know full well, seating deeper reduses useable capacity and raises pressures. I surely did and saw that. BUT these loads was well handles with NO overly flat or large primer flow into striker. Yea the case was swelling moth than I like. It was NOT BULGED OR SMILED!!! Now I have zero intentions of loading to this level and all remaining cartridges will be pulled & triple checked for charges.

So my vote is for a Glock.

You already have the perfect 10, no 10mm auto I ever had was as reliable as a clean 610, except maybe my old G20 but the Glock is long gone.

The beefiest 10's I had were the Megastar 10 and the LAR Grizzly. They can handle just about anything you can dream up without piercing the primers :-)

Anyway, though I'm  really fond of Tanfoglio pistols, the Witness 10's are known to have slide cracking issues when pushed too hard. While I really like my Witnesses, for full throttle 10 loads I'd pick either my DW or Springfield both have long slides and supported barrels.

Thanks for the help and advice, everyone.

The 610 is a 4"...i wish it were a 6", but it can handle anything i put through it and it's fun to shoot so I'll stick with it.
At one time i did have a 6" 610. It was a pre-lock, and before S&W started making them again the prices people were willing to pay for one were 'insane'. I sold it to some 'insane' person who wanted it real bad.

The KKM arrived 4 weeks ahead of the estimated shipping date.  8) I'll put some 'warm' rounds through it and work my way up. Already considering a NDZ 20lb spring for the 40
I'm in the process of moving one state over it will be a while before i can get some productive range time.
