Found  a few of these laying around that were super tarnished like black from weather and I am not sure where I got them from. I have them in the wet tumbler to see how they do. I also found enough small primers to do these. Talk about desperate for something to load!! Craig

Came out like new of course. For data you have to use 40 cal. Oh well we are having fun now!!!!   Craig

Hodgdon has data for hp-38 so I am OK there and I have loaded these in the past but kind of gave up as I have 800 or 900 IMI Sampson rounds in my stock. I just couldn't throw these away as you may never see the brass again for 41 AE.  Craig

Yeah those are them but remember with the 800+ I have in stock I really don't need any more for reloading!! I really need to shoot a bunch.!!!  Craig

OK got the 5 loaded and what a chore. I broke the setting die stem on one set of dies but had another I have never used and it took a while to set the die. These are mag dies set up for 41AE and they do work but barely. 1 of the 5 got damaged a little and I am not sure it will chamber but it might. It will make for a fun range session.  Craig  8)

Not sure if I ever told the story of these 800+ IMI Sampson rounds for 41AE but when handloads.com was still going a man called Setso had these rounds and he and I were making a deal for them when I had a bad motorcycle accident. I had forgot about the rounds untill about a year later my old boss said there were rounds in the break room that had been sent to me. Yep 41AE from Setso. A few weeks later he passed away. I shoot this gun every so often but rarely. So that's how I end up with a few empties. Like 10mm you just don't get a lot back.  Craig

I think I knew that you new him but it was a while ago but I will never forget as we were talking about a few rounds in a box!! he didn't say it was a few boxes in a case!! I did pay him something for them but it was like 175.00 cheap even at that time. He was a good guy that went to the trouble of chasing down my work address and then just sent them. I miss handloads.com in general but this forum is great also!!! Craig

Yep we had many friends over at Handloads.com...  In fact one of the fellow members "Guy", Guy Miner was into big game hunting in the western mountains.  Well he is a regular guest on Gavin Gear's The Ultimate Reloader where they make some great YouTube videos.
This video tells you a good bit of Guy's background and the latest handloads for 308Win.

Also I see a few post from "Rigmarole"  David Johnson Sr. on FB as well...yes missing the old Handloads Forum and the great bunch of people we came to know!

OK back from the gun show and it was not good. The primers were 175 and 200 so I passed on both of those. Some people did have them so they must be available to a certain extent. Oh well ain't but something to do.  Craig

BTW I did buy some 10mm brass as I can reload those as I have large pistol primers but running low on bullets. Oh well.  Craig

Range report!! I shot all the 41AE reloads and they all chambered and shot good. Then I switched to the Samson rounds in 41AE and boy are they hot!! I will look at the data for the reloads I did in HP38 powder. Possibly not loaded very hot or close to max but that's the way I like it. BTW no problems with feeding or cambering and 1 of my reloads was very suspect but chambered fine.  Good time even though I was only out for a few minutes. I am concerned about the bow hunters but have seen no one.  Craig

The data was 4.1 starting and 4.6 max so I loaded 4.3. I will load at 4.6 next time if there is one. Craig

Well I just bought 1500 small pistol primers for 199.00 plus shipping, pricey  but I got them coming. If I get them I will turn you all on to the place. Craig
