I had some time yesterday and stopped in at the local Sportsman Warehouse...EMPTY SHELVES!  ::)
There was no powders or primers of any kind! ???
There was some brass, very few bullets, plenty of shot gun wads, a few reloading presses and parts...

Quite the mess still in full swing here! :(  Can not buy what's not there!

I would like the straight poop from the ammo makers as to where the primers and powder are. There is nothing available on the net even from the big players. So if the company's are at full swing where is everything going?? Craig

I think we harbor the illusion that all of the shooting sports suppliers are enthusiasts like us and therefore are motivated to go the extra mile to get us all what we need. Some of them probably are, but I have a feeling that the larger conglomerates are basing their decisions on profits alone. If things like powder, primers, and loaded ammo are selling for double to triple the price from 2-3 yrs ago, the money is rolling in without increasing capacity and increasing volume.

What would really do us some good is new players in the game and primers would be the perfect market. Practically every major city in this country has empty manufacturing space. Where are the venture capitalists when we need them?

There are two small shops that have most powder types on the shelf although red dot is rare and 4895 is unobtainable. Blue dot in from time to time. Last week they had 2400. Most shops have bullets in most calibers. Although 40/10mm are in short supply. Absolutely no primers in months. The good news there is now ammo on the shelves all the time. My spy at Cabals gives me a heads up when the calibers I shoot come in although the price is pretty steep. Target shot shells are very rare and are gone in hrs of hitting the shelves. Over all I think it’s starting to get better.

Try looking local. Here in south Florida we have a local gun trader site and I found 9k LPP @ $40 per thou Monday.  I bought them all.

The "problem" is those 9k severely imbalanced my primer stash and I'm now compelled to move all my shooting to 10mm and .45 until the imbalance is solved.

I stopped by a Sportsman's yesterday and saw pretty much the same thing. No powder or primers. Very little ammo or other components. But rows and rows of AR mags, I could not believe the amount of "high cap" mags on the shelves.

some of our local gun shops are getting in powder, bullets, and some ammo.better than it was 6 months ago.

Last week  was an awesome week, I was lucky enough to get LP primers at a local Academy Sports and to end the week with even better I bought 5 S&W 10mm mags at a gun show for under $250. There's still hope, primers will start appearing again.

Sunday the 14th at the West Palm Beach show there was a lot, I mean a WHOLE LOT of powder and primers, but nobody was buying prices were still stupid. Right now the entrepreneurs are thinking they can retire or pay off the F-150 at one show. One had a LOT of  tables, I hope he lost his arse :-)

It's there, if at all possible when you see supplies don't buy and they'll eventually sell at cost to get out from under the weight of the inventory.

That is my feelings as well, the stock can sit until prices come down to reasonably prices...no way will I buy at these over inflated prices.

I?ve been seeing wayyyy more powder and primers come available lately. Still at inflated prices but until the market gets saturated again it?s gonna be this way for a while.

Around here if you shoot 9mm or 223 FMJ you can buy all you want 40s&w starting to show up as well. Slugs and buckshot in most stores as well.  Very little hunting ammo when it shows up it?s go in an hour. But over all looking much better. I think because people see it on the shelf buying is slowing down. One shop has quite a bit of powder but no primers yet.

Our local shops (2) here in the Alleghenies seem to have a pretty good stock of common ammo. However, many hunting calibers are not available and certainly NO primers.

Having seen this movie at least 4 times in the past, we learned from history.  Primers were plentiful in 2018 and we bought Winchester, all sizes, for an average of $135 for 5K cartons from Blackhills Shooters Supply freight paid.
Firearm resale value should be your kids' problem.

Me neither.
I do feel bad for young people who have just become of age to purchase firearms and ammo, they're getting screwed the hardest.
Zero sympathy goes to the people who had ignored the many warning signs and the anti-2nd threats which have been going on for decades. I chuckle at the late-comers who blame it all on the 'hoarders'.

As always, remembering the past, and planning for the future is key; something the younger folks will have to learn the hard way
