Most of the brass I loose burns up on re-entry.
I shoot in my pasture and what I've gone to, semi fixed is atarp.  Fire a few rounds to establish a base impact zone. Then sort of centre 10x12 tarp on the zone, Raise the distant end to farm an "L" that will stop the longer runners and bounce them back on the tarp. Landscape fabric might be a tad better since the brass won't skitter as easily. I don't think I loose 5%, probably less

I would install a +8 pound recoil spring and rod from Tromix.   8)

When I  first got a Witness I  had the same issue. Changing springs made it harder to rack the slide but didn't make. Much difference in the launching of brass. A helpful member of another forum who knows the Tanfoglio pistol well. Explained to me that they all use the same ejector..... which means that the ejector engages the brass "early" in the 10mm compared to the ejection cycle of the gun in 9mm. SHORTEN the ejector and the brass is ejected less violently. A few minutes with a dremel got my brass landing 10-12 feet away instead of 35-50 . I could shorten a bit more but I  want positive ejection and I find it acceptable at this level.
