Yesterday I stopped at an amazing LGS.   How many places can you fondle a $30K shotgun without a sales guy staring at you?

When I spotted this Iver Johnson I had to check it out.  Very good slide fit and smooth

Yes.   I now own seven 10mm handguns and 2 carbine conversions. So far the Longslide is second favorite behind the Dan Wesson
SS Delta Elite
SS Colt Double Eagle
Springfield Linkless
SS DW RZ-10
G20
S&W 610
IverJohnson Eagle XL
1911 Mech Tech
Glock Mech Tech

How well do your carbine conversions shoot?

I've been on the hunt for an XL in 10mm, if one show up locally, I'd buy in a heartbeat.

I really like it.   When I was buying it I assumed it would be something I would shoot once then put it in the safe and forget about it

That?s not a longslide. THIS is a longslide. :)

IAI (AMT) Javelina 10mm with 7-inch barrel:

I had a chance to buy a Javalina 4 years ago for 350.  I walked away and went back 3 days later to buy but it was gone

Back when you could still buy a Javelina new, I had one, it was a POS and I sold it to a friend who was unhappy with it. That said, I'd have another for no other reason than I would like to have one :-)

My Javelina had some AMT quality issues including an occlusion in the underside of the slide that needed to be welded and machined back. But it has proven to be exceptionally accurate, and mostly reliable (the factory magazines are junk and won?t hold the slide open after the last shot, and I occasionally get a failure to eject as the empty case gets trapped on the hood of the barrel).  The trigger pull was very stereotypically government issue, but a trigger job fixed that. The added mass really tames the 10mm recoil and the extra sight radius is conducive to accurate shooting.

With only 2000 ever made, they are quite rare, and now seem to be selling in the $2000-2500 range?.
