Welcome back!

As Patriot updated on Facebook and on the placeholder, there was a database corruption issue that occurred during an upgrade.  We have been able to recover all the boards, topics and posts up to around 2:30 AM Wednesday morning.

We lost the theme, which we can re-apply, though Patriot may have a refresh in mind anyway.  Until then we have a vanilla looking forum theme again.

We lost all subscriptions.  If you had subscribed to the forum, a board or a topic you will no longer be subscribed.  Sorry about that.

We lost the poll to topic linkages.  We actually lost the entire topics table, but were able to rebuild most of that data from the posts data.  We have the polls and the poll data, but we don't know which topics they went to.  If one of those topics was yours and you want your poll linked again, send me a message including the topic name and the poll name, or a description of the poll, and I will try to get them sorted.  There were 32 polls over the life of the forum.

Smileys still aren't right, as you can see above.  I hope to fix this in the next day or two.

The general stats also aren't reporting the correct data for number of members, etc.  Still investigating this as well.

Sorry about the speed bump.  Glad to be back with you all.

Great work! A big Thank You to everyone for their efforts. I am so glad that we are back! I was starting to have withdrawals.

Hey you are doing what you can and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thank you for the effort. I dont post here a bunch but it is one of my favorite forums, be a shame to loose it.

WOW I was really scared when I got 404 errors and corrupt forum messages. Thanks for all the effort as  I was nervous that something had gone real wrong. Thanks for all the hard work!!!! Craig

I've managed to make a few tweaks. Got the logo header reinstalled. Changed to our green and white color scheme. I still have some work to do on the favicon, the read/unread icons, and the colored boxes/stars for staff and members below our user names. I'll get all that fixed up when I have some free time.

Thank you all for your heroic efforts. Working in the IT field I know what it can be like, and it sucks.

I really thought she was gone for good. Felt like 9+ years of my life evaporated.

Mike that was a scary thing for sure!  Glad that Mitch stepped up to save what we have back!

Glad it?s back up there is a lot of very good information on here.
Good job and thank you.
You can't fix stupid but you can numb it for a while with a 2X4

The sad thing is the "professionals" at the hosting site allowed this to happen. They assured me it was a simple upgrade. Then after it crashed, they said they could fix it but couldn't. I ended up transferring the domain to a new account, separate from my main account (because my photography business is on the account), so I can give sqlbullet access permanently. I really can't thank him enough. Without him we would be gone for sure.

Some professionals huh, Lol. I see this kinda thing in my global IT Dept at work far to often, just glad its back up 😊

I was glad to help.  I was a real kick in the gut when I saw the facebook message and I am just glad my professional skill set aligned so well with what was needed here.

I am sure the guys at the hosting service did their best, but most likely their focus and background is in infrastructure and administration.  Once the pre-upgrade database dump was cut short by the memory error and they didn't realize it, I think they were over their heads on recovery.

I am just glad to be back "in the room" as it were with all you guys.  It was definitely a reminder of "you don't know what you have til it's gone".
