Dang!  Glad I bought lots of ammo when it was cheap.

I stopped by a large LGS today, they had a shelf sagging with Federal 10mm 180gr. ammo. The price was a bit much, but it was THERE on the shelf. $43/box/50. I didn't partake of the shop's ammo supply, I still have plenty of "free" ammo I found way back in the closet a few months ago, and I am loathe so shoot it until I can replace it with my own handloads (primers/powder being thin on the ground right now).

I wish I could spare the coin for some ammo, but I have quite a bit already, and wouldn't want to be labelled a "hoarder" especially for a pistol I don't shoot too awfully much. My pistol slings brass into the upper atmosphere whenever I shoot it, and I hate shagging brass.................................

We all need to let this high priced ammo sit on the store shelves.  Eventually, the prices will come down.

Kenk

Absolutely, have been ordering some defender stuff from Underwood when available, but yes, we should just let it sit on the shelves  😀

Only problem is that too many folks want / need it so it really won't do squat in bring prices back down  : (

PSA has Nosler Match Grade 180 gr JHP 10mm Ammo, 50/box for 39.99. Hope this helps. 4th of July sale I stumbled on.

I got some before, and saw them available had to get them at that price.

I tripped over a box of Black Talon 10mms in my stash the other day. I had reboxed them for some reason or other, the box was for Winchester Silvertips and had $8 listed as the price :o. Wow, a serious blast from the past. The BTs look like new, bright and shiny. I suppose I'll save them for deer hunting . I did find some of the Silvertips, too, but they weren't nearly as pretty in their dull brass cases.

Pretty nice find, really. I wonder what else I'll find back in that closet that I've forgotten I had?

glennasher, the Silvertips would likely be the better of the two for hunting.  The original Black Talons were only 980 fps from a 5" BBL!

I looks like the BT's   possible replacement, the Winchester Defender 10mm Auto 180 GR Bonded JHP coming in at 1,240 FPS might be a good option also. Personally I like Underwood's 200gr XTP for whitetail

Got my Nosler Match Grade 180 gr JHP 10mm Ammo, 50/box, it is 50 rounds per box, some one asked a question how many per box and it day say 50, and I got four 50 round boxes. Yep seems like a good deal to me for a good hunting and problem critter killer round.

So it would be .80 Cents a round.

Kenk

Yea, a rip, but considering the time's

When you reload .80 per round is always HIGH but in this case, Underwood produces this same bullet/1250 fps load and its $20 for 20 rounds.  About 18 months ago, Nosler had a over the top SALE on this stuff at $20 a box of 50 delivered.  At that price I bought a lifetime supply.
