Great food for thought, I personally train with a 10mm weekly and am very comfortable carrying one for EDC

Yeah, my DTD is my Witness Semi Compact in 10mm:

Looked at a Witness not to long ago, had a nice feel to it

I don't agree that purpose built 10mm pistols wear out faster, with maybe the exception of the older un modified Delta Elites.

I love the way the Witness fits my Hand .... much like a CZ
The all steel Witness Full Sized Frame with the Compact Upper makes for nice Carry, but it IS a bit heavier than the Poly Framed P-Carry
The nice thing about Witness is its convertibility .... one Caliber or Slide Length to another
Here's the same Frame with my 10mm Longslide and a .22lr Conversion Uppers:

I'm not sure that I'd even say that about the early DE, since I have one and it's held up just fine. I shot a lot of the Norma ammo in the late 80s and 90s through that gun.

I think the author was trying to make a presumption that stress and wear are the same thing. Of course 10mm will put more stress on a platform that also supports other less powerful calibers. But if that platform has the strength to handle that stress, I don't really see that there would be any more wear.

Proper cleaning and most importantly good lubrication would seem to me to be far more of a factor regarding wear.

I think Tanfoglio took the CZ / Browning concepts a few steps further. With ported, comped, slide variations, FCG's, calibers and a host of stuff like custom grips, magwells, and conversion kits they out did every other company I know of on any platform in aftermarket goody support. Add to that there are several Tanfo specific sites that cater to Tanfo owners who can't stop tweaking them.

Yes....I meant before Colt modified the frame. I'm glad your Delta is working out for you. I always wanted one. Just never was able to pull the "trigger."  8)
