Been having a lot of frustration lately racking the slide on my Sig P220 Hunter due to arthritis, as the P220 has some serious spring tension. As for all of my other pistols, it's not an issue. So I came across this hand racker gadget, and the reviews were for the most part really positive. Will know more on Saturday when the Amazon dude arrives

It is certainly a challenge that many aging shooters encounter.  This is big talking point for me when I have the opportunity to discuss so called "assault weapons" bans with folks.  An AR or AK pistol is an option for many people that can no longer operate a traditional pistol or revolver due to arthritis or grip strength.

Couple of immediate concerns I see with this product.  Not show stoppers per se, but things to keep in mind.

1.  I was taught, and teach, not to "ride the slide" back into battery.  This can induce a malfunction either with the initial chambering, or far less commonly with the second shot.

2.  Some hard surfaces could result in a ricochet if you have an AD/ND.  This could result in injury to the operator or bystander.  I would avoid using this against concrete or steel.

But, if it solves a problem for you and you are comfortable with the known possible issues, get you some!

Thanks Wade, as of now, it hasn't arrived yet, but have already thought about a few of these concerns. I will likely use this device at home on my wood reloading bench, insert an empty mag, and then use the device to lock the slide back, and then drop the empty mag, and insert a full one, at that point, I would only have release the slide and I'm ready to go. Once that mag is empty, drop that mag, insert a fresh one, releasing the slide 😊

Have known about this in the past, but totally forgot about this technique... completely fixed the problem. When racking the slide back, and pushing forward with the hand holding the weapon, it's a piece of cake now 😀
