Hi all, I just bought a pristine Colt Elite 10 made in 1988. My question, most of the Colt Elites are scribed with Delta Elite on the slide. Mine simply says Elite 10 (no Delta) The grip does have the wrap around black rubber with the Delta emblom on the grip. Is this possibly a more rare version that is worth, lets say.... a million dollars?  :-)

Any comments or assistance welcome.

Thanks, LPTS

During the late '80's and 90's as Colt struggled to find profitability one of the things they would often do is smallish runs such as the Elite 10.  It was a standard blued slide with a stainless steel frame and a non-standard roll-mark on the slide.  These would be offered at a slight premium in the market to boost margin on the guns.

As a general rule they do not command any premium today over a standard Delta Elite from the same time frame.  Sorry to say you have not won the lottery.   ;D

That said, I do think the two-tone gun makes for a very nice 1911 look and there are occasionally auctions where these guns bring a small premium if two collectors just gotta have one.

Colt did a run of called the Elite 10/40, as well. It came with a 40sw barrel and mags, etc. Now those are worth $50,000 and up!

Kidding :))
