He may be a sissy, but he's an I still have all my fingers attached sissy! ;)
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Harleycolt

I haven't used their 10mm stuff but have tried their 223 and 300win mag stuff on hogs, shoot flop over pigs :P

In their testimonial section someone commented on their experience with the 10mm load from a G29 on a whitetail.  The feller said it worked more efficiently than his 44 Magnum ever did.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Not sure if I would really trust much a testimonial that came from a manufacturer's own site. Now if somebody somewhere ELSE said they worked that good, then I would listen a bit more carefully.

If Raggedyman is okay with testing them let's do it.

The thing with these light projectiles are that they loose energy faster over distance...taking velocity readings say at 50 yards may show significant loss of velocity thus energy loss.  Besides they don't appear to be very stable or aerodynamic, test would also be needed to see if the tumble or keyhole at distance. ???

I would be afraid to put my Chrony 50 yards in front of a projectile this light.  Tumble could be enough at that distance to put (another) hole in my chrony.

Intercooler

That's why we put protection on them.

LeMat

That stuff looks like absolute garbage.

But I guess the internet commandos and mall ninjas like it, so they must be making money since they're still around.
This situation is exactly like 1994 and 2009.  Shooters responded emotionally to some threat that did not exist.  Some persons who wanted to appear "in the know" or "connected" used the internet forums to repeat these "sky is falling" rumors over and over until people believed i

Intercooler

Yea this is one it looks like that won't make the rounds of testing.

Raggedyman

I would be interested in testing it if there was some way to know whether these rounds are within acceptable pressure limits. I'm sure they won't penetrate very deeply at all but there's one way to know for sure. If the company's velocity figures are to be believed, it might actually be able to penetrate soft body armor. I have a hard time believing it, though. A 77 gr .223 out of a 10.5" barrel is about 2,500 fps and that's with twice the amount of powder (yes, a different kind) and twice the barrel length.

sqlbullet

Problem is the terrible sectional density of such a light bullet that is so big in diameter.  A hubcap moving 150 fps has the same energy, but it won't defeat body armor.

To defeat body armor in 10mm you are going to need a sabot round, IMHO.  And that will have all kinds of it's own problems.  Better off going to 9X25 and loading hot.

On the website it says;

RBCD Performance Plus - Handgun /Rifle Ammunition has the highest velocity of any commercially available ammunition, at Standard Pressure Levels (never Plus P or higher pressure levels). RBCD Performance Plus bullets are designed foremost for safety with exacting performance levels required for:

Personal Defense
Home Security
Law Enforcement
High Level VIP Protection
Hunting - Small & Large Game

Raggedyman

And the Extreme Shock guys told us that air marshals use their boolits.

I'm just worried because the thread started with Glocks blowing up. If there were a larger body of knowledge about these I'd feel better. I'll probably eventually talk myself into it, though.

I believe there's intelligence behind your caution.  Do you have an aftermarket barrel with better case support for your Glock?  If so I wouldn't think it so big of a deal.
