I was searching out some new stuff to try and had seen this one in the past. Up popped a link to a Glock owner blowing up one pistol and then following with a second  :o

Looks like it was all firearm related so is it worth a look? It makes a reference to a Double Tap 135gr back in the day that must have really of been a zinger (which they aren't now). Anyone know about that ammo back then?

Data I have for the DT using the 135 JHP was 1600 fps.  I know there were many guys that pushed to the the older published data for 800X, however that data has been changed since then.

In the Hodgdon 2012 Annual, they don't even show a load using 800x or Longshot with the 135 in 10mm.  But get this in the 40S&W the show 11.5 grains of LongShot giving 1434 fps with 31,900 psi...

He pulled the bullets and measured the charges. He said they ranged from 10.2 to 10.9 grains of Hogdon. That hardly seems like a weapon related KB.

More sloppy loading from a boutique manufacturer pushing the limit.

Yes that looked like some really good highly QC'ed ammo. I do not hardly think that was a gun faliure but thats just me. I  guess you could shoot a 20 gr bullet at 3000 fps if you wanted but I think I would pass. But there again thats just me. If you want a rifle buy a rifle. If you want a pistol load it past the know limits and you might have 2 of them. I sure would like to have some of those outstanding bullets that were being used. Looked like they were made from empty beer cans mixed with a few pennies.LMFAO !!! :o :o :o

Yeah, I went to the RBCD website. For some reason they don't put bthe PRESSURE generated by their rounds in their specs. And did you see the pictures of the pulled bullets in the forum you listed? Looks like NO, ZERO, NADA quality Control there. I wouldn't use them.

2420 fps muzzle velocity on their 77 grain 10mm? That's INSANE! How can you do that and keep them in SAMMI specs?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Decent support it probably would have been fine at those charges.

Never heard of the company before,  after seeing the product, would never buy them.

Those charges are just the ones he pulled. I can only imagine what the charges in the ones that blew up were. :o

Yeah, but all the Glock "KABOOM!) stories out there all seem to have something to do with shooting lead reloads, not any factory made ammo. But like I said, this ammo must have some SERIOUS pressure.

You took the words right out of my mouth.  Friggin hilarious!
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

That's what I was thinking.  You never know how far the charge weight ranges without pulling all of them, and on top of that you still never know because of the fired ones that blew out that couldn't be checked again ever.  I'ld like to know how much of that ammo was ever sold.

I just did a Google search on them and the company still offers this load in their product lineup.

Sure enough, they offer all different sorts of loads in different cartridges -  http://www.rbcd.net/home.cfm

I like how they claim;  RBCD Performance Plus - Handgun /Rifle Ammunition has the highest velocity of any commercially available ammunition, at Standard Pressure Levels (never Plus P or higher pressure levels). RBCD Performance Plus bullets are designed foremost for safety with exacting performance levels required for:
Personal Defense
Home Security
Law Enforcement
High Level VIP Protection
Hunting - Small & Large Game

That being the case, I wonder how there was ever an issue.  LOL

For anyone that want's to take the gamble, they say;  Ammunition may also be ordered and shipped Direct From the Factory by calling 1-877-688-5985 (no minimum purchase required).

I think I'll pass. ;D
