Broke Down and got a 6" SS KKM barrel.

OK...I did it again and got the nitrated barrel same length from KKM. I had some disposable money, and figured I'd dispose of it before some one else had an idea to dispose of it. I wanted a black barrel and having two KKM barrels I think is a good long term investment for my slow 10mm build. I was so impressed by the KKM it was no brainer for another one. This might be the last major fun budget expense.

As for the super long wait time...well I got the KKM SS one already and some Wolf ones as well. (oh poor me.  ) 

I did loan out the original Lone wolf to some one said he needed a SS one. Well I told him watch the extra wide bullets when using it. I'll probably get it back in a month or so. If his canoe goes over and its lost, it won't be a biggie (Still get mift though  ) for me as I got a few others.  He wanted some thing for hard cast and all I have is my 6" barrel. The threaded barrel with a compensater is a nice a short time outing carry but the extra stuff on a barrel for a few weeks in the field would be an extra complication I found. Eventually they get their own extra barrel of some make.

Barrels I'll never loan out are the KKM (in a few months KKMS) and the OEM barrel.

Note I'm not bashing Wolf products, its just that I want to have some thing for the wider bullets, my experience with their CS was pretty nice on a compensater. They replaced that piece of aluminum device, the problem was the comp was going to hit the slide on return, but next time I'll just file it down and use some black gun pen to cover the shiny filings.

Second KKM the nitrated one is coming in! With in the 2 days of the projected time frame! Back then it was a 30 day wait, now looking at their site its a 60 extra wait time. Its going to be my G-40's main barrel. The other KKM is going in the polymer 80 once I get a slide for it.

Its the wait that is the killer for me. Looks like the Alphawolf 6" 10mm and the 6.61 10mm threaded barrels are still available. I got both and they seem to work fine with non extra wide bullets like the XTP types, the 6" 40 Short and Weak conversion is not available it seems, I used mine for the 40 S&W I found and literally blew away as I was still able to find more 10mm than that stuff. But I got the KKM barrels to make sure every thing works all the time.
