Issues With EAA Witness Match

Having issues with my EAA Witness Match.  I'm thinking weak slide stop spring.  Slide locks back after each round, effectively rendering it a dingle shot.  Pull slide back slams home ready too shoot.  Works fine hand cycling but under recoil the slide stop bounces up and locks the slide back.

Other issue is every couple rounds (5-6) the magazine just falls out at your feet.

EAA service sent me a link to a $3.00 slide stop spring.  Is this the level of customer support they provide?  Look at a YouTube video on how to change out the slide stop spring and the guy said this was a toughie.

Where can I send this thing off to and be able to expect a finely working fire arm when returned?  I consider it a shame buy a brand new fire arm and then have to send it in for repairs.

EAA, never again.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your new gun.  It is true that EAA customer service is neither cheap nor friendly by most reports.  Competent is about the best you will find said about it, and even then that level of support is not frequent.

Regarding the slide stop....Being frank it is most likely related to your grip on the gun.  None of mine have a particularly robust spring installed, and I have seen friends have the issue when shooting my guns.  Since they have it and I don't, I can only attribute this to grip.  That said, I have not shot your gun, and it could be I would have the issue.  But I would suspect that you are bumping it first before I started replacing springs.  Try shooting right hand only and see if the issue persists.

Never had the issue with the mag falling.  Does the amount of magazine catch engagement decrease with each shot?  As in, after four shots if I hit the mag release it is just barely hanging on?  And, does this problem persist in right hand only shooting?

Edit to add...I have a Match (10mm) and a Stock III (9mm and 38 Super barrels).  Both of them have overall fit and finish that is far above their costs.  That is the benefit of EAA.  They don't charge you up front for a customer service experience that all users don't need.  And on the basis of the added cost I see for what I perceive as comparable products (CZ Shadow II, which I also have) you get a lot more bang for your buck with the EAA offerings.

Check that your slide stop isn't backing out. I filed the groove that the spring sits on to hold better on one of mine. It was sliding out shooting the hot stuff... maybe due to wear some too!

Looking at the YouTube videos It doesn't look like a walk in the park to change this spring out.  Can anyone recommend a smith?  Near north eastern WI, Central UP?

@sqlbulle;  I'm being very careful not to touch the slide stop catch.  It's worse shooting off a rest, like the picnic table.  Not as bad standing off hand, but still happens.  As far as the mag drop the button sticks out quite a bit more than on any other pistol I own, I notice.  Kind of sure I'm ham handing that part at least.  Just wondering if there is a smaller mag catch or should I go after it with my Dremel?  Son is coming home for Christmas.  I'll see if he has the same issues with it.

Every tanfo I own scoots the last round forward a bit in the mag after extraction/ejection. The firmer a grip you have, the less likely it will cause the last round to bump the slide stop. The next time you shoot it, look down to see if the round has forced the slide stop up.

Replaced slide stop catch spring.  Seems I had one and a new slide stop in the box.  Will order a spare.  Definite improvement in tension.  Will have to wait til wife unit goes some place to shoot. She doesn't like to be here when I shoot.  I shoot out my basement.
