Illegal to carry and wear a mask..I don’t think so

Was out coyote hunting this morning with no success😩, and then stopped for gas on the way home. Keep in mind the town we live in is a rural MN town of aprx 4K. I normally don't open carry unless I'm hunting, or on our property, but didn't think twice about it when paying for my gas. That's when some guy pumping gas hollered, hey, it's illegal to carry and wear a mask in Minnesota, loose the mask and keep the weapon. I just nodded and said I'm keeping the mask; where's yours? After looking into it, I learned this falls under the "medical treatment" exception, and is a nonissue, and likely carry's the same exception in most, if not all states excluding possible CA and IL.

Sheriff Heck went on to say in the email:I can assure any permit to carry holders that they are allowed to carry a firearm under their permit to carry while wearing a mask to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (or for any of the other reasons listed in statute 609.735) in St. Cloud or any other community that requires face coverings.

Great information!

I know in Texas this has come up and wearing a face mask does not inhibit your right to carry.  Tex. Penal Code Sec. 42.01(a)(-8) .

Looks like this website might be a little misaligned with the Minnesota penal code, but otherwise good information.

Thanks for the link.  Poor Illinois...they just can't figure it out.

Also, reading the Illinois law, and with the other laws I have read, they usually include verbiage about "concealing identity".  Simple solution, get a mask that has your face on it:
