If you ever want to remove the camo print from the Sig P220 Hunter 10mm you can😀

I spoke with Michael Chandler from Sig today regarding stripping the camo print from the Sig P220 Hunter if I ever tired of that finish. He said, absolutely, for $100.00, we can strip it down to the stainless steel and will look great with a turnaround time of one week. An awesome thing if I don't love the finish down the road.

$100 seems pretty steep to remove a finish that many users report comes off with common gun solvents.  Just clean it good a couple of times with shooters choice 

In all seriousness, based on my research I am pretty sure you can DIY this removal with a jug of whatever paint stripper the local home improvement store has.  After you get the Kryptek off you may want to touch up the base metal with a bead or soda blast.  Assuming you have an air compressor you can get a gravity blast gun and media at Harbor Freight for $50.  For another $55 you can add a pancake compressor.  So for the cost of sending it to sig, you can add two tools to your garage and learn a skill.

Morning sqlbullet, so after going over it multiple times with shooters choice or another solvent, do you think it would look ok without the bead or soda blast? Due to being off work with lower back issues, spending the extra for a compressor isn't terribly realistic

Having never stripped one I can't say for sure.  I would doubt it.  I think you will need some kind of surface abrasion to uniform the surface.

It was kind of cool speaking with Michael Chandler from Sig again today, and asked him if the camo finish starts to flake or wears off like two of my friends P220 Hunter 10mm's, will Sig strip and bead blast it for free...He said yes, absolutely...Score 😀

For sure, It's just nice to know that Sig will strip and beed blast the weapon for free if the finish flakes due to holster wear, or comes off due to cleaning solvents
