I just purchased a Gen 4 G20 Glock 10mm.

I bought the Glock to carry on my hunting and fishing adventures.  I have hunted extensively in Kansas and Wyoming plus a little in Texas and Colorado.  I went on a successful moose hunt last year in Alaska and got hooked on that state also.  I especially enjoy unguided hunts in remote areas.  I hunt with a rifle but carry a handgun while scouting, fishing, and packing meat.  The 357 revolver that has accompanied me on a lot of these trips is a discontinued S&W 386 XL Hunter.  It has been a great pistol but I have decided to keep it in good shape since it can't be replaced and go with the Glock on these trips.  I'm starting to hunt in places with more than just black bears, coyotes, and cougars.  I've never had an issue with those animals but feel like being better prepared in grizzly or brown bear country is a good idea.  I'll be asking questions about this primarily, I am new to the 10mm and Glock.  I have shot mostly revolvers and 1911's in the past with some others mixed in.

For personal info I ranch with my Dad on a family operation in KS.  We run commercial Angus/Simmental cross cows.  We still do a lot of our work horseback and I riding a good horse is my favorite part of my job.  Anything else you want to know just ask, that's about all I can think of for now.

Thanks everyone.

I'm glad you came here I think you will like the forum a lot and I think your new Glock 20 will be a lot of fun.

So how does that moose taste? I have never had moose but I hear it is very delicious.

  Hello all

My real name is Jim and I live in california with all of the loonies......hehe. I am a manager at a Dragstrip currently.
My background is rather interesting with the 10mm round in that I worked for D&D for three years before the demise. I did extensive testing with the Norma 10mm (hot) rounds as well as the R&D of the Bren Ten.  Yes you read correctly..... I was one of the builders of what would have and should have been one of the best 10mm pistols ever.
Look forward to some good stories..

Hello and welcome to the forum Jim!  As a Bren Ten owner I can say they are amazing pistols!
It would be interesting to hear more info on the D&D enterprise and the Bren Pistols.
Best regards!  :D
