All gun shows being cancelled --- COVID related

As of today, considering the reemergence of COVID cases, all gun shows have been cancelled and bumped forward into late July.

Just yesterday in a LGS a Jackass was sitting there in a room full of people coughing. No mask, not covering his mouth. It's no wonder a friend who works in a hospital told me yesterday that admissions there with upper respiratory issues have increased tenfold this month.

Are any shows staying open in states where people still have a sense of caution about transmitting COVID?

Don't ask me.  Utah is setting new case count records every day.

I hope I'm wrong, but have a bad feeling that things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better.

I had in in March, just mild cough and shortness of breath. If the experts are reasonably on point I "should" have a 9-15 month immunity from getting it again. A friend who works in a hospital says admissions are climbing so I hop my "immunity" sticks around.

The shows in Ohio have been falling 'one by one'. The Mansfield show for July 11/12 is still a go. If it's not cancelled I'm planning to go to it. The Berea show for that same dates was recently cancelled. The Berea warm weather shows are big, the Mansfield show is medium sized and worth going to.
I'm not looking to buy any firearms, looking for old Lyman shellholders.
The Fin Feather Fur stores in northern Ohio are well stocked, they have six stores. Went to the Middleburg Heights store last week and was amazed. Got there 2:15/2:30. Store 'greeter' outside the door. Masks encouraged but not mandatory, so I didn't. Also handing out 'firearm tickets', ticket necessary to be waited on at firearms counters. Told him I wasn't there for firearms but got a ticket anyway. Most employees wearing masks, some weren't. No shortage of anything like the reports of around the country that nothing was to be had. Longarm racks fully stocked, handgun cases full. I wasn't close enough to make out pricing. Gunpowder and variety more than I've EVER seen there. Bullets and brass abundant. Primers no shortage at all. Reloading supplies appeared to be normal pricing. Ready to shoot ammo again more than I've ever seen there, even a new long rack for rifle and shotgun ammo. People were looking at guns and filling out 4473s'. Background check wait seemed nothing as I saw a lady looking at a ruger pistol and when I was leaving, she was at the checkout register. I bought a Lyman shellholder adaptor. Leaving at 3pm there was a new sign outside, 'firearm sales done for the day', so that aspect must end at 3. Everything looked normal except for limited access to firearms counters and an expanded ready to shoot ammo. The only thing I didn't see, which I wasn't there for anyway, was CCI 22lr mini mag ammo.

The Flu is robbing more of America's freedoms than saving life's. The American workers have lost jobs at the highest rate in history. Will our leaders shut down Gun Shows in the future with fear for attenders  health? :(

More than likely, just another way to keep us away

Hahaha...what is it about gun people and paranoia? Seriously...trade shows and conventions representing everything from outdoor retail to model trains to ham radio are being cancelled in the name of public health, but the only people who seem to think it's a government plot are the gun show people. I just don't get it.

Anyone ever explore the possibility that maybe some shows are canceling due to projected low attendance and a corresponding lack of revenue combined with concerns about the current pandemic...in other words, due to the forces of a free capitalist society, rather than due to a nefarious and maniacal government?

It's a much simpler explanation than a insidious government conspiracy, though that undoubtably works against it in some circles.

Maybe I'm naive, but when I hear hoofbeats I think horses, not zebras. Just another viewpoint from a dedicated gun owner.

Went to Mansfield Ohio gun show today, Sunday. Was there from 11 to 12:30. Words cannot describe how good it felt to actually be at a gun show.
No line to get in, decent crowd, social distancing, not much mask wearing, some vendors were wearing them. Surprised, after reports from around the country that firearms are sold out, at the huge amount of firearms (longarms and handguns) actually available there. Did not study any of the pricing.
It was a very good show
