Hey guys, I'm new here, this is my first post. Anyhow, I just bought my first 10MM, still waiting for it to arrive at my FFL as I ordered it yesterday. After looking, and looking, and looking, I decided on the Grand Power P40L. I am a fan of the rotating barrel, as well as the fully supported chamber. I wanted a gun that would be "Bank Vault" strong. With that said, me being the way that I am, I am already second guessing my decision and thinking that I should have possibly gone with another Make/Model. I've seen some reviews where people had trouble with mags falling out on the Grand Powers where they had to be sent back in to be fixed. Also where a select few had a problem with the slide getting stuck part way back, and the gun not returning to battery. Are these problems fixed now do you think?? Should I rest easy?? Any input would be much appreciated. I know I can send the gun in to get it fixed if need be, I'm just hoping that it runs like a Swiss watch, and that I don't need to. I plan on it being my EDC, so I need it to be totally fail proof.

I think you will be fine.  I know of only one user here that still have a GP with issues.  10tens as I recall...

I am feeling the call pretty strongly at the moment.  I am interested in a P40-10mm and have been shopping them pretty hard.  Need to sell some stuff and then I think I will buy one.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to it to be honest!!! I have a case of S&B ammo on the way. I am a reloader, but have no components yet, and didn't want to wait. I am going to buy a few boxes of something nice and hot so that I can really test for the Magazine Drop issue. Hopefully all is well. If not, I'll have it addressed. Can't wait to jump deep into the 10mm addiction!!!

I just ordered two boxes of Sig brand ammo for it. I figure several hundred rounds of the S&B, followed by one hundred rounds of the Sig, should tell the story of whether or not my gun is going to suffer from the dreaded mag drop or not.

The sign 180s got a little thump to them. But if you want to test with the big joy stuff look for underwood, buffalo bore and some home loads. Guys here will know all the thumpers. The 220g underwood Hardcast is a pretty heavy round out of my g40 and new xdm10...wouldn't want to shoot a steady diet of those

I have the P40-10mm. I had the mag drop problem but that is fully resolved now. Love it, the gun is strong and as you said fully supported. You will love it. I have been shopping a P40L-10mm, it is just a matter of time. Merry Christmas!

Congratulations on your new purchase.  You got yours around the same time as me, so I'm curious how yours fares.  I've got about 150 rounds through mine (GP40, not L model), and no mag-drop issue yet.  Shoots S&B FMJ fine.  I think you'll like yours.  Good luck.
