XDM dinging brass

today while loading the brass I shot in the new XDM, I noticed that every shell had a small (about an eighth in. long) line about half way down the case. the sizing die pretty much erased it and I don't believe it is damaging the case. obviously the brass is hitting something during ejection. I didn't notice any brass streaks on the gun when I cleaned it but I will look better after I shoot it again. have any other XDM shooters noticed this?

Honestly the majority of my 10mm do this. Including my XDM

Heck my beowulf actually divots the case if I don't run the brass catcher.

As long as its not displacing brass like a glock smile or causing finish issues on your pistol I wouldn't worry too much.

I echo Bruno747's comments.  Most of my 10mm's beat up the brass pretty good.  Sizing dies takes care of it.

several of my 10mm do this the worse is my Kriss Vector Carbine.

My Glocks and my 1911's do it. My Sig and GP do not.

It's annoying for sure, but yes, I too have this problem with the EAA Witness Hunter and even the RIA doublestack. My LAR Grizzly in 45 Mag pounds the crap out of the brass--I mean it really folds a crease in it--and yet the sizing die takes it all out.  At least for a while.

One thing I tried with the EAA was to simply grind back the ejector face 0.015-0.020" or so, a little at a time of course and I'm still moving it back. It seems to be making a very minor difference, but it's also hard to tell what with 5 different handloads running through the system at any given time.

A bit o' lube and care, the sizer will make all well again.

Ditch the ugly Springfield and go back to Glock. Kind of like 1911's, if it's not a Colt, it's just a copy. Same with a XD/HS-2000, just poor skirt rider  ;D ;D

Baaaaaahhhhhhh. Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Hilarious....

If glocks didn't ruin brass so much, I might own a 10mm one of them....
NOT!
;D :P

thanks for the replies. I didn't let the little dings bother me, its not like they were a "Glock smile".  ;D I was just curious if other XDMs did it too.
I almost went to the dark side and bought a G 20. but the smiles and the crappy ergonomics kept me hesitating until the XDM came out. I have shot other XD s before and liked them so I went with the XDM.
