EAA: Now I get it

So I finally got my EAA Hunter out to the range.  Only changes I made were to swap out the factory grips for Xtreme aluminums, and put in an 18 lb recoil spring.

The out-of-box factory trigger was 5-6 lbs and gritty.  A little disappointing - and I was contemplating a trigger job.  But after 150 rounds, it smoothed out to about 4lb.  Still a fair amount of take up but definitely smoother and more predictable.  I'm sure it will get even better.

Accuracy was impressive even from the beginning when the trigger was heavy.  Didn't do any strict testing but it was as or more accurate than many other 10mms I've shot.

I was shooting 180 and 200gr factory ammo from 1050 -1100 ft/sec.  With the 18lb spring, all casings were dropping predictably within 5-6 ft.  no 20 ft flyers like i had heard.

Only 150 rounds but 100% reliable.

The grip shape made the gun much more comfortable to shoot for longer periods of time than other platforms. No hot spots.  The Xtreme grips are a little thin for me so i may put the factory's back on, or try and find something in between.

Anyway highly impressed

The way they fit the hand is the deceptive thing about these guns.  They feel great and make shooting so effortless.  Even more so with a smaller caliber like 9mm or 38 super.

I find the same true of Glocks.  They feel horrible to just hold.  And it takes some time to get trained so the sights naturally rest on target.  But then you shoot it and it shoots "smaller" than cartridge from the nylon frame soaking up recoil.

The hot ticket today and what I want to try are the Loki grips. Super grip and a tad thicker than EG aluminum panels.

Yes I've been seeing some talk about those.  I'll have to take a look.
