Welcome to America!  Hope they implement something reasonable that allows those in rural Illinois to have some form of shall issue even if Chicago doesn't want it.

It is good news for citizens of Illinois. But let's see the how the Chicago thugs make things costly and difficult.

Yeah...Unfortunately I have no doubt the Chicago political machine will enact arcane rules the keep Illinois on the short list of states where I have to remove my gun when visiting relatives.  In fact, Illinois is the only state on that list.

It's hard to believe.  Keeps hope alive.  Glad to see it even if further hurdles still exist.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Even better, I just read an article that indicates that they have the votes to make it a shall issue law.

I am not deluded enough to think that I will get my Utah permit recognized, but hopefully I can buy a couple acres from my grandfather and qualify as a IL landowner.

BEEMER!

I live in Iowa, right on the Illinois border so this is great news for me.  In fact the gun club I shoot at is in Illinois.

The Illinois NRA Field Rep told me last summer that they were 80% sure it would go through in the next year or two and I laughed at him.  The Illinois gun owners and shooters like me who travel in Illinois on a weekly basis owe the NRA a big Thank You!

In that Tribune article, Barbara Flynn Currie (D-Chicago), has a two sentence quote where the word 'control' appears three times plus the word 'constrained'.

Clearly reveals what gun laws are about.

Too bad the Judicial branch can't add words to this ruling to the effect of "If within the 180 day stay, the newly crafted laws violate the U.S. Constitution, Illinois legislators will be arrested.".

There is little downside to creating laws that violate and infringe on our rights. Constituents re-elect them and Executive branch won't drag them off to jail.

Yeah...But the good news is the 180 day rule puts them on the defensive on their "home turf".

Right thinking Legislators have a majority in both houses.  Passing legislation has not been the issue in Illinois.  Over-riding the inevitable veto has been.

But now that isn't an issue.  If Gov. Quinn doesn't sign something the legislature sends him within 180 days, the the court order kicks in and Illinois will have Vermont/Alaska style constitutional carry, which would be fine by me.

The more I read about this ruling, the more I see that it is likely Illinois is about to move to being a VERY concealed carry friendly state.

Yes, I agree with your assessment of Illinois' chances. Except for Chicago, the state has reasonable legislators. Would be great to see them go straight to 'shall issue'.

Just frustrated with the process.

Recently, Hannah Sabata posted a youtube video about her participating in a bank robbery. That video will be used as evidence in her conviction. Anti-Constitution legislators leave a fully public record of their crime.  Would be so cool if there was a knock on their door.  :D

Yeah...I hear you.  Same with the TSA.  There was a video recently of a new mom trying to get through screening with some milk she had pumped.  Even had the print out of the TSA regs saying breast milk is a medical liquid and can/should be screened by non-radiating means.

TSA detained her for 50 minutes, caused her to miss her flight and still refused to follow their own regs on the liquid.  Those guys should be dismissed fined and given 30 days in the county lockup.  I mean seriously...What would happen to me if I detained a young women against her will by threat of force for an hour.
