Found a company willing to make 220 gr JSP bullets, Reed's Ammunition & Research http://shop.reedsammo.com/41-cal-220g-JSP-Bullets-100-41220JSP.htm, basically it's their 41 Magnum 220 gr JSP sized down for 10mm use (and in my case, 40 Super).

I got my order of 100 in yesterday and they look GTG. Diameter measured right at 0.402" and OAL is something like 0.7" (slightly longer than 200 gr XTP). They offered to include a cannelure for a couple bucks more per 100, but since I'm using these for multiple cartridges, I'll taper crimp in place. I dropped one on accident and the core appears to be a fairly soft lead, similar to what is used in the Federal 180 gr Trophy bonded, so these should mushroom nicely.

Depending on interest, they may produce more so maybe the price will come down. I paid ~$47/100 shipped on this single order.

They look very nice and should work well...my concern is the amount of the ogive may be a little long for the 10mm as you can only work out to about 0.268" or 0.270" outside the casing!

Yup, my thoughts too. They also make a 250 gr JSP I was hoping could work with my 40 Super, but Reed's said the ogive wouldn't permit it. I think there's a market for a good 220 gr JSP and convinced the owner to start R&D. Maybe they should increase the meplate a little more? The 220 gr Xtreme Plated are about 0.05" wider I think and cycle just fine.

Did you look at the .403 ones for the Herter's 401 mag? Since they list a 240 gr bullet?
