I would hope that the EAA Witness is not the contured top end...But you would want to remain in th lower impulse range if it is!

Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Standard polymer frame. Not Wonderfinish. 22lb recoil spring.

I don't believe I've ever seen any reports of anyone having a cracked slide with my particular model. Most reports seem to be steel frame Wonderfinish slides and usually they are using stock springs. I'm not very concerned about it. Despite EAA's poor CS record, they do seem to be willing to replace cracked slides with "match" slides. If it breaks I won't get to play with 10mm for several weeks while I wait for them to get me a new one. No, I'm not going to tell them that I was shooting real 10mm, let alone hand loads.

ETA: I'm leaving right now to do another test. I bumped up the 800-X by another 0.2 gr to 8.3 gr under the 200 gr XTP and I'll shoot that over a chrono, through denim, and into gelatin. If everything works well, I'll also shoot the Underwood 155 gr Gold Dot because it tied with the Hornady CD 165 gr but was listed first.

I find it interesting that 5 people picked the Hornady Critical Defense load, just as many as the Underwood 155 GD.

And out of 6 voters so far, it's even more impressive.  Honestly, I'm surprised there haven't been more voters participating in this poll.

155-165 grain is a sweet spot for 40 S&W, which means there are lots of good bullets out there in that weight. That is probably why we are seeing a spike in those weights.  Also, they are the "new" kids on the block, as 180 has been with us for a LONG time.

I'll be hitting the range again tomorrow if I get the chance. Let's get some more votes in there so I know what you want to see most. I'm planning on doing the Critical Defense and the Golden Saber.
