And everything was 100%.  New Glock 20 Gen 4 w/Nickel Boron coating.  I also have the Glock 21 in the same Nickel Boron coating and it makes clean up a snap and requires no lubrication (but I still use a little synthetic grease).  First up was a box of 50 Remington UMC 180 FMJ and all 50 went down range with no failures whatsoever.  Then a box of CorBon 135g JHP - flawless.  Then a box of Hornady Custom 180g XTP - flawless.  Then a box of Hornady Critical Duty 175g FlexLock - flawless.  Then a box of Underwood 135g JHP- flawless.  And finally a box of Winchester 175g Silvertips - flawless.

I'd say I have a reliable 20.  The recoil was lighter than any of the .357 magnum revolvers and so I was pleasantly surprised.  After reading articles about the horrendous 10mm recoil I was expecting... horrendous recoil.  Didn't seem much different than the model 21.  I will say the Underwood had a loud report, and the CorBon felt as if there was a bit more recoil.  But the 175 and 180g hollow points almost felt mild and I had no problem getting off a quick, accurate second shot.  The Silvertips seemed very mild and easy to control, almost like a smaller caliber or a heavier gun.

Next up (when it gets here) will be the Underwood 180g XTP @ 1300fps which looks to be a good carry round.

I was expecting much more recoil.  Very good day at the range.  I let a couple others shoot the 20 and all agreed it was not as violent as they had expected.  One commented he'd always wanted a 10mm (and his wife took note) so we may have a new member after Christmas.  One guy mentioned the recoil seemed milder than his little 380 pocket gun.  I think the large grip and significant weight of the gun helps a lot.

Three thumbs up!

For what it delivers, the 10mm isn't bad in the recoil department.    Momentum wise it is just a few percent more than a 45 ACP.  About 10%.

Great! I hope you have many years of safe and happy shooting with your new pistol.

All the best.

The wide backstrap of the double stack Glock grip, along with the polymer frame do a nice job of dispersing / absorbing recoil.

Congrats on an excellent 10mm!
