And a G20 wouldn't last as long either.  More powder burned equates to more heat.

As a full Pistol, I can't stand the thing
As a Receiver for a CCU, it works for me
BUT, the fact that the Pistol TOOK all that abuse ?

Spoke to a Glock armorer. The current production Gen 3 Glock guide rod / RSA is marked "-1." These newer guide rods won't melt. This improvement stemmed from a 1000 round torture test conducted by James Yeager, where the guide rod melted and the Glock 19 kept firing. If you don't believe me google it for yourself.

The Gen 4 RSA / guide rods are, of course, made mostly of metal.
