What say you, 10mm enthusiasts?  Should we require a psych eval to buy a gun?

Maybe we could make a few changes in the 1st Amendment, too. Howsa 'bout a background check before you can vote? I could go on.......

I like your thinking EdMc.  I have long been a fan of excluding anyone who either doesn't pay national taxes of some sort directly, or who received any federal welfare money, from the vote for the House of Representatives.

It is not fair to those who do pay for non-payers to get a say in how funds are used.

It is a conflict of interest to be able to vote to give yourself money from the public coffer.

No representation without taxation.

EdMc

Obviously, I was being somewhat facetious about the !st Amendment....our major media now being 'agenda' driven. In the beginning you had to own property to vote, skin in the game, so to speak. Doesn't sound so democratic, but we are a republic after all, not a democracy. Now politicians can 'buy' votes with 'social' programs. Not exactly what our founding fathers envisioned.

Something must change....our politicians have kicked this can down the road for years. Now the can is too heavy to move.

REDLINE

It never ends.  Not that I'm surprised, just saying.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

"I would like to see who can offer me the best explanation on why we shouldn't require a psychological and registering your gun purchase"

Perhaps Amendment number 2.

We have psycholgical screening here in NJ prior to every handgun purchase, as well as part of the application process to obtain a firearms purchaser ID card to be able to buy long guns.
