I've been working on a trade with a fellow on the Cast Boolits forum and in the process found out he's a 10mm fan (woo hoo!) Naturally, I referred him here so he may join the forum but he was talking about getting a group buy together for a heavy 10mm mold. I'll attach the spec sheet he posted but from what I gather he's looking for a 220g WFN style that has a slight ogive and a HP pin that will drop HPS in the 205g range, not sure on measurements/profile of HP cavity. The spec sheet says a %65 meplat so his as cast at .403 would yeild a .26195 meplat if my math is right. I've never participated in a group buy and don't know much about them but he mentioned something about having to have 15 interested people and then it'd be a 1-2 month wait for the molds, unsure of cost per unit at this point, think he's looking at a 2 cavity.

Any way, thought i'd throw it out there for you guys (and your wallets) to ponder, personally I'd like to have one.

Looks like a good mold.  Very similar to my Mountain Mold 210 grain.

I have several molds from NOE.  Al Nelson is a stand up guy and his molds are outstanding in my experience.  He lives about 30 miles south of me and I have visited his shop a couple of times and had very nice conversations with him.  Anyone needing a mold in this design and weight won't go wrong with an NOE mold.

That is very good to know, always a pleasure to deal with good people. What kind of meplat do you have on your 210g mold if I may ask? Has it given you any feed issues in semi-autos? I ask because I've read a few places online people having some trouble with big wide flat noses in some semis, I think it was intercooler here had a go with them in a Dan Wesson. I just want to make sure it'll be doable with the G20 and 1006. The guy that originally posed it mentioned to me he'd like to replicate a double tap 220g load.

NOE has great mold service from what everyone I know that has them.  I have considered getting something in the 200 grain range, but I already have an RCBS 200 TC SWC so that works for my needs...
Also have the Lyman Devastator 156 grain HPBB and it is based off the Lyman 175 grain TCBB also in my inventory, so I'm good to go!

You know seeing how people are using the Powdered Poly Paint for their coatings and lube replacements, my thoughts would be having a mold cut with very shallow or no lube grooves. That would keep the heavier bullet shorter in length, thus allowing more powder space and potentially higher velocity with out a large increase in pressure. :-\

I'm with you Shadow - I'm trying to find a HCHP in 200 to 210 gr - no luck yet also no luck in a cast head with no lube groove as I powder coat all my heads now.

Why not add a 220g Shadow, one 200+g mold can't be enough  :P

I agree with both of you, a grooveless 200 or 220g would be great, for the reasons Shadow has listed. I know I've seen the group buys for grooveless molds for powdercoat but none in .401-.403 that come to mind at any weight. A nice grooveless 4-6 cavity .403 200+g making bullets under .640 long would look awfully nice in the mold drawer  8)

Yes they are called HTC Bullets for Hi-Tek Coating.
NOE used to have the program to design your own bullets, but I don't see that feature any more.
If I were to get another mold, I'd like 0.300" Meplat, a smooth transition from the ogive of the nose profile to the straight sides of the bullet, by this I mean no step like a SWC design.  (The SWC design was intended for cutting clean holes in a paper target.) (see NOE design below)

Bullet body 0.4030" with no lube grooves to utilize the Hi-Tek Coating (Poly Powder Paint coatings)
Bullet length nose radius of the body shank 0.3000"
Bullet Body length 0.3400"
Total bullet length to equal 0.6400"
Total weight between 200-215 grains

Here is the 200 WFN they show with a single lube groove...
