A few other manufactures sent me some ammunition to test and I have updated my article.

Hunter thanks for the link, and very nice articles.  Keep up the good work!

IC, In his article he shows the Clear Ballistics, in direct comparison testing it will perform just like the FBI gel spec but has a wider temperature range of performance and doesn't spoil like the real gelitin.

Did I read it wrong? I only saw gel without identification, but it could be "Clear Synthetic Gel". It looks to clear for homemade gel.

Okay... Missed the link inside to click over to the info. Thanks!

Good set of data that looks similar to what Raggedyman gets in his results. Any plans for all copper rounds in the 1400 FPS range?

I really enjoyed hunters first test and this one as well.  great to see just a factory hornady custom 180 is still a top notch load.  id like to see critical duty hornady 175gr 10mm and 155gr barnes buffalo bore oh and nosler 200gr jhp.

Speer should really offer a 10mm factory load, or two.

Hunter

It is Clear Ballistics gel, I probability should of went over that in the updated test.

I will email my contact at Hornady tonight and the a few others to see if I can get more test ammo and do yet another update. I truly love the 10mm Auto. I too wish Speer offered a factory load but the
Georgia Arms loaded Speer did a nice job.

Thank you all for the kind words, that means a great deal to me.

Nice. Thank you for posting. It's encouraging to see some consistency with my own results. The Hornady 155 gr results are a bit perplexing, though. I usually see deeper penetration when a bullet is fired through denim. Are you sure it's not a typo? Were they XTP?

Hunter

The Hornady were https://www.hornady.com/store/10mm-155-gr-HP-XTP/

Before i removed the bullet from the gel to get the data I photographed each one in the ballistic gel with a ruler under it so I would not mix up the results.
