My SIG XTEN shoots low

Mine XTEN was shooting about 4" to 6" at 15yds with 10 different loads. I sent it back to SIG. They have an evaluation protocol in which they shoot 2 or 3 different ammo types using two shooters. The evaluation is covered under warranty IFF they find an issue. If the evaluation shows no issues, then SIG sends you a $110 bill to cover ammo/labor/return shipping.

SIG sent mine back in 9 days, from drop off to delivery at my door, with a swapped out lower front sight, #6 to #8 and included a 10m evaluation target that looks pretty good. I haven't shot it yet, but they definitely made the sight change in the right direction. I'm pleased SIG got the work done expediently.

Anyone else with XTEN issues?  I've read about a few, but all in all, it looks like the XTEN roll out has gone well.

Are you placing front sight on top of your POA. POI should be the same as POA if you do.
If you place it under, your Sig will always shoot low.
Sig sights are always like this. Not so other gun mfg.

Sig?s warranty service is fantastic in my experience, they had my P220 Elite 10mm back in two weeks as well, with no charge. If you ever require action on Sig?s part, email Michael Chandler, he?s a super nice guy, and knows how to take care of business fast.

Yes, my xten shot low by 6" at 15m. At 100m I had to give it a LOT of elevation just to get it on paper and ring a 12" gong (yeah, I like long range pistol shooting.... at coyotes and rabbits, etc.). Far more elevation than what aiming with the target behind the front sight-dot would have impacted.
A friend that works at the LGS where I purchased it is a certified sig armorer. He tried the xten at 15m and 30m and it shot low for him as well, so he contacted Sig straight away.
Sig's rep told him that they've been reading and receiving a lot of 'internet lore' about the xten shooting low and said it's more or less BS that xtens shoot low and that they (sig) have not had that experience. Sure they haven't. Typical Sig. Friend told the rep that indeed it shot very low.
Luckily, friend had an extra set of the xray sights in the shop that were both #8's. He replaced the rear sight and it helped a little. I took it home and shot at 15m and 70m and it was still too low.  Friend then replaced the front sight with the remaining #8 and that fixed the POA/POI problem. Sig then sent a replacement sight set to my LGS to replace the #8 set that was put on my xten, for which I will commend sig for doing that for free.
Of course, I'm not the big sig fan-boi that will completely modify my aiming method just for my one and only sig pistol. I put my POA/POI at the top of the sights, not behind the front dot that sig believes sighting should be held to.
This pistol still has a long massaging process to go before it's as accurate and consistent as my stock g20 and g40 at 15m and beyond. Not what I expected from sig.

Email Michael, he helped me a great deal with my P220 Elite, and was not only really helpful, but a super nice guy

I run into that alot between my G20 and Sig 220/10...

their sght pics are different  :(

Thought about changing the front sight on one or the other but fiq it wasn't worth the trouble/money.

I ran into something similar with my G44 - .22 LR, Glock sent me a taller front sight, and totally corrected the POA / POI issue

Update.  The replacement lower front sight did the trick.  Generally with SIGs, sights usually require "combat" POA, that is directly covering the intended target.  Thanks SIG for addressing the issue.

My xten was dead on at 18yards but I do have issues with loading 15 in the mag when the slide is closed it won't even work the slide has be locked open first.

I left my FULL mag inserted into the firearm for over a week, then repeated with the 2nd mag.  It loosened the mag springs adequately.   I haven't had this issue, macc283.  Maybe this can help?
