Load issue or just me

Lately I have been concerned about a load for my S&W CSX. It seems to me to have a lot of recoil but it is a very small gun. I tried to lighten the loads for it and it does work but only in that gun not some others. I have had a load that would work in any gun I have used for years but it is harsh in the Smith. My general question is this. Should I be more concerned about function even in a stout load vs a load that I can shoot a lot as I believe in shooting the carry pistol more often that never. I think I believe the more shooting the better even if it's not everyday with the carry pistol!! I hope this makes sense.  Craig

What ever I have chosen to carry I shoot the most, but also mix it up most every trip to the range. Always try and bring a variety, if I shoot them all, great, if not, that?s ok too

It's not you, Craig...it's physics.  Small, lightweight firearms always have higher felt recoil vs. larger framed, heavier ones... albeit some more than others.  Always there's a  compromise.

Thanks guys I feel better knowing the lightness of the gun is the problem. I can easily carry something more full size and I do shoot them better but when you factor in the size that is easy to carry and will hopefully only be shot as needed it makes me wonder. But thanks again for the input as it gives me something to ponder.  Craig

Yep, sounds similar to my GX4 micro. I for sure shoot my duty size pistols better, but for our small town errands, GX4 weighting in at 18 oz empty is a joy to carry
