Well, I know exactly what can happen when a company goes to a public trading and sells stocks.

investors milk it dry and bankrupt it.

Just as Colt, Bushmaster, Remington, dpms, et al,  how it turned out for them.

For all I know, vista outdoors may already be a public traded company already.  But, I still like dealing with private companies whenever possible because they have a lot higher regard to standing behind their product than caring what some wealthy investor in Saudi Arabia thinks because we all know they're not going to complain that the customer service needs improved as long as their bottom line stays above the black.
