New Rule Requires FFL?s to Disclose Buyer Information to Government

Delays are not unheard-of in my experience. I?m not sure if this is caused by certain names, or the spelling of names, or even due to the NICS system being overwhelmed, but it happens. I receive a 3 business day delay about 20 percent of the time. Once the three days have passed, I get a call from my LGS letting me know it?s ready for pickup. This seems more like a governmental workaround to create a gun registry than anything else.

18 U.S.C ? 926 prohibits the federal government from compiling a registry of gun owners.  The only exceptions are for NFA items and property reports associated with a crime (eg, you reporting someone stole your gun)

Hopefully there?s not any truth to the article. I could see, but don?t necessarily agree with if a prohibited person tried, but was declined, it was reported, but for a standard delay, not so much. In MN we either get a proceed or a delay. We have a small shop that calls in to do the form, versus doing it online. I have always gotten a proceed at that store, but with the bigger outfits, if I do get a delay and goes into research mode, it could take, say 30 extra minutes to be approved, or the full three days allowed

I?m not sure if the proceed or delay thing is done everywhere, or just certain states, but it happens to people all the time in my neck of the woods, and not for any apparent reason, but ultimately gets approved, at least for me
