WOW.... I'm "That Guy"

Sometimes things change, and I need to move for the first time in over 20 years.  I am packing up things I won't be using during the transition, and reloading supplies and ammo fit that description.

Holy Smokes.  Three big moving boxes full of powder, one stuffed full of primers.  20k rounds of 22lr,  ammo boxes full of 5.56 and 10mm, new brass that has yet to touch a primer, boxes of bullets packed into smaller boxes so I can still move the damn things.  I even have some 416 Rigby in case a wild elephant happens by.

I was just thinking that if some three letter agency wanted to frame me, what the press release would look like.  Enough ammo not just to start a war, but finish it as well.

Oh, by the way, I don't care what the supply chain and prices look like right now.  My trailer can carry about a ton of payload.  That is about the weight of the reloading desk and supplies.  It adds up fast!

Lord, if it be your will, may I live long enough to shoot this all up.

The media does sensationalize things that aren't sensational.

When I read those news stories about how a guy had 1K rounds of 5.56 or 9mm "stockpiled" I can' help but think about how much ammo my six kids, their SO's and I shoot in a Saturday afternoon in the desert.  It is more than 1K rounds.

I moved to this location about six and half years ago, and it turns out that I'm one of "those guys" too. I rarely throw out anything reloading related, and I had several pickup truckloads of "stuff" when I moved. It nearly broke my poor old back.

I noticed about two months ago that I had several hundred rounds of 10mm that I'd loaded for my old Delta Elite 30+ years ago, and I no longer had the Colt, so instead of just stockpiling for no reason, I found a new RIA 6" gun to to use shooting them up.....As it turns out, that old PMC and Midway brass is in excellent condition, and that "old" ammo shoots as good or better than new "store-bought" ammo. I am having fun fooling with this brute of a pistol, too. I looked down my nose at the RIAs for a long time, until I got this one apart and noticed that it had fewer tool marks inside than that Colt ever did. It's pretty well made. :o
I also found that I had scads and scads of .45 ACP that I'd forgotten about, and more 9mm than I remembered, too. It was like hitting the lottery, especially at current pricing. I plan to use it all up, THEN set up my loading gear again (it's still in the boxes from when I moved).
I guess I've been sitting on a gold (okay, COPPER/BRASS mine all along).

1000 rounds is a slow week when things can be restocked easily.  I shoot 2 plate matches and if I'm up to it a pin match every week.  So I know how easily it adds up and how quickly it adds up
