Glock 40 did it again. So did the Alphawolf barrel again with the Horady XTP. Like an idiot I didn't swap to the glock OEM barrel. But the shot worked. The Horady XTP didn't want to cycle properly... As I think the feed ramp might be do narrow for it I saw a few you tubers were saying. I still use the XTPs well its a great bullet! I just forgot to swap the barrels, but good thing it didn't matter.  ;D

I even broke down and tried to get a KKM barrel. But none around but the nice guy at KKM said he could have one made in 6 weeks, of the money is available a nitrited/melonited barrel would be even sweeter for performance and and it keeps the black gun black. It might be time to unload some my stock pile of Lone Wolf Barrels. SOME of them, they feed other ammo fine.

Works fine with the stock barrel for the wider hollow points. I just had hard cast lead loaded in the G-40 for literal trouble shooting of problem critters.  And save the brass with a full supported chambers for a friend who reloads. Its mostly the hard cast lead loads one can't shoot to much in a glock barrel is the main reason. Another thing I need to do is get a new trigger, the glock trigger is very "gritty and squishy" compared to my other pistols.

Get a Johnny Glock trigger. You will be glad you did.

Well I tried my 22 pound RSA (with adapter) in it and the alphawolf barrel and the older SS one, nope still Failure to feed every time with the wider XTP. You can see the wider feed ramp on the Glock OEM Barrel. On the right side standard HPs from Fiocchi work great in them. I was getting a magpul AFG from midway and found them there, so of course I bought 2 boxes, re thought about it and went to get more a 5 min later they were sold out. Great 10mm round for a great price!

I got a better bullet for bear and beer...er deer seasons, so that's why I'm using these XTPs first.

Looks like a KKM barrel for next year. I'm going to get a few after market slides so these lone wolf barrels will still have their uses. Besides loaners for people with their glock 20s and box of ammo early holiday present for their hunt. (Gave them 10mm HP Fiochhi, that's why I had to replace my supply a bit).

I tried my DPM recoil reduction system in the G-40. XTP still not feed at all in the Alphawolf and Lone Wolf barrels but find in the OEM one. The 180 grain HP Fiocchi feed well in them as does the 200 grain double tab hard lead. Unless Nosler has another big Christmas sale for their 180 grain hp's my main shooting round will the the 180 grain HP Fiocchi for cost effectiveness and quality. People also have reported its a great performer on deer.

Last month I tried out some 200 hardcast in my G40 along with some 165 Gold Dot HP and 155 Berry's plated TC-HB loads.  All are going in the mid to upper 1200s from the 6" barrel.

Didn't notice any bigger groups with the hardcast vs. the jacketed or plated bullets and this was with the stock barrel. Zero feeding issues with any of the rounds...

Was wondering how much larger groups everyone has been getting with hardcast...

Thanks...Bob
