...as in SIG Nightmare Carry....

Saw one in .357 SIG last Christmas.  Was used in the $950 area as I recall...  Ended up passing on it but really like the round and gun.

Have had a RIA TAC II Combat Commander size gun for about 4 1/2 years...really an excellent shooter but just never cared for the nose heavy balance due to the bull barrel bushingless design. 100% tight lockup and accuracy as good as the 10s I have costing 2-3 times what I paid for it but just couldn't get past the balance issue..

Saw a full size SIG in .357 with an extra .38 Super barrel on GB but when it went past my limit I looked for anything else in a 1911 platform in .357 and found two Nightmare Carry...one was already bid up to over $1200 and the other had a BuyNow of $1025...I hit the BuyNow and put the RIA up for sale...

There were none on the market...bidding war...sold for $800...

Have been in touch with Fusion and they have both .40 and 10mm barrels for the Nightmare Carry...so once the gun gets here will run some rounds through it and if I like it then it will become a multi-caliber 1911...

But I would still one day like to build an aluminum frame Commander in 10mm...I know...nutz...  But I have a barrel sitting here...  That will probably be the "nightmare" without the capital "N"...

The nightmare carry with a fusion 10mm barrel is the way to go.

So all you did was swap a barrel out and it required no other fitting, extractor tuning or anything else? Was this the 45 or 357 model that worked for you? I was told by Bruce Gray that the 45 model would not work with just a 10mm barrel swap.

Thanks

.357 sig.  breach face for a 357 sig and 10mm are the same. I changed the hammer and recoil springs. Put a fbfps in and fitted a Harrison slide stop. You have to make sure either the barrel maker or yourself cuts it for the the external extractor. And above make sure it is for a commander and not simply a cut down government barrel.

Thanks for the clue about getting the barrel machined for the extractor...forgot all about that...
