Gun shows STILL closed

Since retiring in ~2016 I've gotten much more involved in shooting again, but my going to gun shows never stopped being a source of entertainment and finding new products.

Then COVID struck (me personally as it happens I had a VERY minor case) and I thought the shows being closed would save me money but... The LGS and online dealers have gotten whatever I may have saved.

I'm guessing I'm not alone not only in online / local purchase increases, or in wanting the shows to re-start :-)

This has actually be great for me.  The work from home schedule combined with the moratorium on travel for my job has actually allowed me to shoot my guns regularly.  I figured out a year or two ago I buy so many as catharsis for not shooting them, so my purchased overall are way down.

Well one of my gun shows was going on yesterday and I bought a Walther p38 never fired all complete with box, brushes, manual. Never shot except I might shoot it today.  Craig

I'll be willing to bet that dealers who are primarily involved in the gun show end of the business will be looking to move some inventory. It may be a good time to have waited with cash on hand!

I've been thinking the same thing 😀

I mostly buy from guys walking around with signs or if they have a gun with them I will approach and ask if it's for sale. Once bought I move it to my car. The dealers have more knowledge than me when it comes to price and they don't budge much. I will say sometimes during hard times I see prices drop all over the show. I usually just buy reloading supplies from the dealers but buy 90 percent from the internet. Powder and primers I get locally with no hazmat involvement.  Craig

Well, there's a big show in West Palm Beach (Florida) this weekend. I've been saving for a new toy, maybe even a 10.
