BTW just to clarify I bought Trail Boss during the powder crunch a while ago and had a lot of trouble with 223 in a friends gun. I am reading now where it is not recommended to use with automatic guns and I can believe it. It did shoot OK but wouldn't load the next round most of the time. I switched to varget and all problems went away. For the light load I an using a old 303 Enfield bolt action gun. All rounds are running fine and the light rounds I am really enjoying to shoot. It's a whole different game now. I just wanted to post to say Trail Boss may be the ticket for what I am trying to do and I am thinking about trying it in my bolt action 223. May be even buy some more as needed.  Craig

I would never have even tried Trail Boss in a semi-auto.  It is a mouse load powder.

Shot the 303 today a little but was so cold I had to stop. All rounds functioned great with the Trail Boss working good as a light round. I shot some of the old 3031 IMR powdered loads and they felt twice as strong as the TB rounds but I am looking for light and I found them with the TB loads. All rounds hit in the bulls eye so I was doing my job as well.  Craig

BTW I forgot to mention the the Trail Boss load was 9g for a 125g sierra bullet I just got in lately. The reason I bring it up the 10g with the 150g bullets I had been loading shot much softer than the 125, go figure, no clue as to why? Doesn't matter much as all the TB rounds are very light. This just came up. I got back into reloading 303 because a friend had one that he had trouble finding loaded rounds for. I had some full house rounds I gave him to use but his brother had stolen his gun so he returned the bullets I gave him. Well now I have all kinds for loads and brass and I still have a full container of trail boss, lucky me!!! We are having fun now!!  Craig
