I just ordered 5 boxes of the JHP for $9.95 / 20 round box.

I emailed Nosler recently asking about any ballistic testing of the 10mm 180gr rounds as I cannot find anything on the internet.  Some testing of the 150gr showed weight loss down to 100grs.  I guess at $20 a box of 50 even if its just a target load its still $5 less than Underwoods FMJ practice round.  Here is their response.

Marshall,
Recommended use for Nosler pistol bullets would be for target use, being a jacketed hollow point would not feel under gunned in a person to person defense. Nosler produces a defense load using bonded bullets better suited,  unfortunately not in the 10mm only 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP.  Thank you

They are advertised the same as Underwood's "Delta Elite" load. Same bullet in fact. So technically they are on sale always. $17.99 from Underwood with flat rate $7.95 shipping. If I were you guys, I'd save that $2 to $10 difference https://www.underwoodammo.com/collections/handgun-ammo/products/10mm-auto-180-grain-jacketed-hollow-point?variant=18785725120569

Thanks for pointing this out in that Underwood considers this to be a worthy loading.  However the cheaper price point at $17.99 plus shipping is over two times the sale price of the Noslers at 20 rounds per box.  They cost me $20 a box delivered with 50 rounds in a box.  Not sure I need all of them but scored 2000 rounds for the future.  If there is a better deal out there for this level of ammo, I have never seen it.

Looking over the Underwood 10mm loads in order of popularity, there are 21 different loads and this one is 3 up from the bottom so not in serious contention.  I think they use a 5" barrel in their velocity numbers and it took my 6" KKM that put it right on 1250fps so the Underwood is a little stronger.  I am 10-12' away on my chrony so maybe it is comparable.

I found later the boxes were 50. I meant to come back and add that, but with a sick wife and a sick kid, I got side tracked. I assure you, Underwood is the only ammo maker that regularly meets and exceeds advertised velocity, and yes, they use 5" for 10mm.

I'm curious why it took a 6" barrel for the Nosler to make 1250. What did you get from a 5"?

I do not have a 5" only the G20 stock and KKM 6".  Now the factory loads I put across the crony were the ones from Nosler not Underwood that advertises the same 1250fps.  Not sure which barrel they used to get those stats but in my 6" KKM its exactly 1250fps.

Using a search I finally ran into a gel test of 10mm 180gr bullets handloaded to 1260fps.  Looks like the Nosler is less than some and better than some.  Its post #66 in this link.

This was not unexpected as the other Nosler non-bonded rounds in the 150gr and 200gr lost an extraordinary amount of weight at 10mm velocity.  They do not seem to be alone though as other brands work well at .40 S&W velocity then shed weight at 10mm velocity.
